Price to get an ethernet cable going through attic

How's it going

Just wondering if anyone knows how much it would cost to get someone to run an ethernet cable through the attic into another room?

The modem is already in the attic, the problem is the attic space is awkward. Can't stand in alot of places

Just seeing if this is something anyone's had done before?

There should be plenty of rafters to stand on or crawl across? It's only approx a 10mm hole required to fit the cable through so anyone handy should be able to do it and run it down a corner in the room.

Id imagine most people would be able to do this, if you buy a long cable with the fittings already in it and drill a big enough hole

I have a contact in the Office of public works who knows a fella that will do it for € 100,000 plus vat .

Where are you based?
Cat6 cable is cheap, and very easy to terminate into sockets at either end ..
Drop two runs while you're there .. it's a Saturday afternoon project

Add a tenner or so for some sticky-backed conduit to keep it tidy and a few cable clips so you're not tripping over it in the attic, and Robert's your mother's brother :)

But you're still sorted under €100 if you're starting from nothin' - and you'll probably have cable left over afterwards to do it again when you get addicted to it :D

Homeplugs are good but only for internet 200 meg and under. Anything above is lost even on the ones with the 2.5gb ports. I was a big fan of homeplugs..used them for well over a decade but once I upgraded to 1gb internet I quickly realized their limitations.
