So what you're doing is justifying fratricide, which is a far more "upclose and personal" form of murder, as a good way of keeping a wider peace in the country - a price worth paying? Only I suspect that in a country where the monarch is expected to kill all his royal brothers and half brothers for political reasons, the value of non-royal life is probably so low that many killings are not even reported: dead wives and servants for instance, possibly children too - all the unimportant people.
So I don't think I'd be praising the Ottoman empire as a beacon of internal peace.
And then there are all the wars the Ottoman empire fought with other countries - but you probably blame everybody else for those.
Funny enough the Irish haven't yet tried firing random rockets at English towns, though, never mind kidnapping thousands from Glastonbury and keeping them prisoner in tunnels. If that's how much the Palestinians hate the Israelis after this, I'd say Israelis can live with that.
