So for the deposit return receipts, you can take a picture of them in your Google wallet, and it will copy the bar code and turn it into a digital bar code in your wallet and it will work at self checkouts. I wonder if you could even scan them on the Lidl plus scanner 🫡
Anyone notice the option for Lidl Pay? Just seen it this morning for the first time. Looks like you add your card details and it debits you when you scan your Lidl Plus QR code.
Might have been handy before Android/Apple Pay was a thing but don’t see the point of it personally. I also like to glance at the screen before I tap to make sure the freebie/discounts went through.
Yea, just spotted that today when seeing the day's kickstart discount.
It's unfortunately definitely a few years too late.
Anyone find Sun Lolly (free) from the app in their stores?
Before they were free on the app, there was a mini pallet of them at the tills, they then ended up down in the middle of the store at the end of one of the aisles when stock reduced, didnt see any today on my trip to the store
maybe I’m looking in the wrong area? I thought they were like calippo or that, in the freezer… no?
They are not frozen when in store, in boxes on a pallet usually in the middle between the crisp and toiletries aisle.
They were towards the end of my local's "special/temporary dry goods" aisle; mixed in with the special branded goods offers.
This week’s coupon code is
PARKRUN373
and will allow you a choice between a
loose pears
or
Irish mushrooms
f
Is that a loose pear or loose pears? 🤓
Ha, a sign that even the Lidl marketing person subconsciously feels a pear is a bit mean!! :)
I found them next to the freezers on the end of the aisle
Handy if you want people to hurry up you can just scan your qr and run away. If only everyone would but nobody will and they'll pack their bags slowly while chatting about the price of cocaine to the cashier as they give me the eyeroll.
Does not work for me.
anyone have their deluxe crisps offer get 3 for 2 disappear off the app, it was there one minute and then gone 🤔
edit - now it’s back after a refresh of the app 🙄🙄
I'll try this out, I always get verification issues switching between my wallet and Lidl plus, nice addition imo
Didn't work, just scanned the first time and it registered Lidl plus but not the payment, I wonder if you have to scan a second time after, guy at the till said they only heard about it this morning but still have to get trained on it
you didn’t do the run !!!
Anyone with a view on this week's red wine?
Also what are the Coffee beans on the app like?
Coffee:
We like them. They're the cheapest around, we often get the darker roasted ones 20% off in lidl when they're getting ready to bring the next batch out as they repeat them and Brazilian week a lot the past 3 years.
They're matte, like not at all oily so good for automatic machines. It's not a dark dark bitter coffee, but not too mild either.
I'd rate them 4 moonbeans out of 6 starbursts.
The red wine is the : Hachon Reserva Ribero del Duero, Spanish.
I've not had it myself, I prefer the classic Riojas from Spain, sometimes find the Riberos a bit overdone.
But it does get good reviews elsewhere…

I love that wine! Particularly when it's on offer - I'm planning to stock up. But I'm particularly fond of Douro/Ribeira del Duero anyway. At under a tenner I'd class that as a good bargain.
Probably already been asked but does anyone know what's going on with the lidl brand oat milk. Its hardly ever in stock anymore , yet they are always pushing the more expensive branded oat milk. Just wondering if it is being discontinued?
New grinder, and starting from the bottom. Tried the one below and it was awful.
As with all beans, most of the flavor comes with how fine of a grind you make, grinder used (should be a basic Burr at least) and how you are brewing your coffee. Lidl beans have never failed me for espresso pulls but I've been doing this for years.
I'm using a Krups F20342.
How long do you grind the beans for?
Try and get one of these grinders during one of the sales (I picked mine from Amazon years ago), those blade grinders are only for beginners and one should look at a burr grinder sooner than later.

This. It's been out of stock for the past 3+ weeks. Checked in 4 different locations in Dublin. Was also on offer last week with the whole plant-based food range but was missing again. Selling the Altrp Barista for 3.45/liter which is highway robbery. Higher than Tesco/Dunnes sell it at (Dunnes had a promo on that you could buy 3 for 4 euros). Sure Lidl is making a killer margin on that price compared to what they make on their milk so not sure if its on purpose or not
Apparently you have to tell them you will be paying with it before you scan
