I read it that you have planning for the bigger house, which is an additional container with a built section in the middle forming the hall. If you do not do this development then the existing property is not in compliance. It is odd that no kitchen is shown on the new plans, even though the development could be done with the existing kitchen left in place.
1 million quid for a 2 bed apartment
https://www.daft.ie/for-sale/apartment-66-ballintyre-square-ballinteer-ballinteer-dublin-16/5857091
It's a 3 bed penthouse apartment, 240m², 3 ensuite bathrooms and guest wc. While it's crazy money, I think it'll go for more given the location. Very disappointing balcony though as that's the only private outdoor area.
It's very bland and looks like it was bought as corporate accommodation.
Editing to add:
MANAGEMENT COMPANY: Indigo Real Estate Management Service Charge: €5,113 per annum approx.
😬😬
But you have limes in the kitchen! And that vase of gladioli is getting some mileage. If I wanted an expensive apartment in Dublin I might go for it.
Ah yes a 3 bed. But with 1 living room. So not sure who its target market is. A family? Some bachelor who likes empty bedrooms?
Probably an investor who will rent it out to working professionals, or a wealthy person/couple who wants to have guests over.
I'd imagine a family with that budget would opt for a house with a garden. Depending on what and where they buy they might have money left over to extend to add a second living room/sun room for the kids. And who wants to have to clean a bathroom per child?
Fair few MNC in the area that would like to have that for medium term overseas management. Cost wouldnt be a consideration if the place is up to scratch.
or for a similar amount, how about a castle in Tipperary?

The location is pretty rubbish for apartment living. Surely if you're going for an apartment you would want to be central. For €1m, in Ballinteer, you may as well buy a house.
That's pretty cool and not ridiculous money. Wasn't expecting the interior to be so nice
is that a medieval septic tank?
I'm sure this has been up on the thread before - I recognised the bedroom with the bath in the corner.
But I think some major improvements have been made since the last time, - probably to try and get more interest from buyers.
I love almost everything about the castle except what looks like Ikea bookcases in the bedroom & the heraldic bath surround. Otherwise, it’s amazing.
Was that the castle that featured on one of the Irish big house renovation shows? I think it was an American couple who’d bought it.
I thought exactly the same thing! Went looking but couldn't find anything online, so decided I must be mistaken.
Went back to look at that castle again why did they not clear out the big pile of rubble/stones in the middle of the garden.
Looks like they were still building the stone wall when the pic's were taken. You can see a cement mixer just over the other side of the wall.
Lovely house in Donegal

Remember that for sale a few years ago, some markup in the time since
That has made an appearance on here a few few times now.
Yes, I remember a discussion about the sculpture.
If you want to do a comparison,

I should report that post. How dare you subject my eyes to that.

This listing really annoys me. This could be a beautiful house, but I don't know which is worse, the shockingly bad presentation or the equally bad EA photos. Over half a million quids for a house and the vendors can't even hide away some of their rubbish and crap.
Potentially a very pretty house, though I think it would need a good bit spent on it, if only in cleaning and clearing. Lovely grounds.
that ankle height radiator under the kitchen sink is a design feature i've not seen before.
Good spot - that rad seems like a complete bollox of a location. And I doubt it would have any effect at all in that house.
BER G ❄️
That has a bit of the look of an executor sale about it….. all very old-fashioned.
Could be absolutely gorgeous though!
comes with 20 acres, mind.
Those prices are to keep the riff raff out of the estate
Well they could drop the price by half a million and still do that
