Ok have a PC and want to future proof it

Use it for work and personal use but looking at maybe getting Windows 11 as like to be able to use Android on this. When I check to see if I can install it on PC I get TPM not detected. Googled this and is a way but dont want to F up my PC

Specs are below so is it worth the upgrade get something new installed or buy new PC. I dont have knowledge of assembly and I know yeah you tube videos etc out there but I would rather get one pre built or buy parts and someone assembles it for me. first I want to see if I can upgrade then if not look at new pc

Turning on the TPM should just be a matter of enabling the firmware TPM option in the BIOS. That's listed as a supported CPU otherwise.

Upgrade wise, you could go up to the 5000 series of Ryzen's, including the X3D variants. Make sure update the BIOS beforehand. That won't have on board graphics though. Do you use a standalone GPU with it?

Upgrading the BIOS is easy. Download the file and save it somewhere, restart the PC, go to the BIOS and find the update option, it's usually listed under utilities with a name like EZ Flash on Asus boards. Give it the file, and let it do its thing. You can find the one you need here:

The TPM part should be already there yes, it's just for the potential CPU upgrade it'll be needed.

It does, but you need to enable the firmware based TPM option in the BIOS manually. It's off by default and blocks Win 11 installation.

Thanks if I follow the YT link i should be able to enable tpm and then update it to Windows 11.Do i need to do a full back up before or is there anything that can f up

Also do i need an update to any hardware etc to future proof it as might as well get it all done while I can

The Windows 11 update is fairly seemless, and issues are unlikely, though not absolutely impossible. So if in doubt back up anything important to play safe.

Otherwise, there's not going to be any software issues. Win 11 really isn't fundamentally different to be honest.

If you're looking for a simple upgrade then you could try the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G it will be about twice as fast as your current processor for everyday tasks and marginally better at gaming. Just make sure you update the bios before your install it.

Should be fine. CEX offer a 2 year warranty on all items. If you want to buy it new it's €27 more on Amazon.

You can also trade in your old processor to offset the cost of the new one at cex.

The 5800X is only €180 on Amazon brand new and its light years better than the 5700G.

Be well worth getting that and then getting a 2nd hand GPU for €20 for display.

Old PC is probably DDR3 RAM. This is DDR4. You've 16GB. That's perfectly fine for now unless you are doing something very heavy duty.

Have to ask, do you have a graphic's card? The previous CPU had one in it but a 5800x doesn't. The old PC might even have one.

Your old CPU had a built-in graphics card. The new one does not.

So you need a dedicated graphics card. Presuming you're not gaming and I doubt you were doing anything heavy on a 3400G in any case, a 2nd hand card off Adverts for anything from 20-50€ will do just fine.

No, it's not worth returning. The processors with the built-in graphics are slower than those without.

Is this a pre-built PC you bought from a shop/online or one that you built/someone else built?

You just need a 2nd hand graphics card for display purposes, but again you can get something very cheap that will work fine. But it's hard to advise what card without knowing what kind of PC/Size PC case/Power supply you have.

Could go even cheaper but the 1050 is a bit more modern than older cards and would play older games some most modern esports games fine as well.
