There is an expectation of a fourth based aircraft for SNN to be announced shortly and if this does go ahead then no doubt you will see the schedule grow further for next year.

Even in years with new routes, regular schedules are released in advance. New routes aren't loaded until around the time of announcement.

Not the year they announced the 3rd based aircraft. The whole schedule wasnt on sale until they announced that.
The increased freq are operated by away based aircraft aswell. For example Shannon-Alicante. Thats also operated by Alicante based aircraft. So its not really a hopeful indicator. It would be hopeful if it was a Shannon based aircraft.
There was also route freq increases for this summer and that didnt mean any extra aircraft.
How can you tell the Alicante increase is on an Alicante based aircraft.
I'd take the increases as a characteristic needed for another based aircraft but not a direct link to same. Not sure where this information re another based aircraft is coming from, the first sign for me would be recruitment and I'm not seeing any uptick there,
The timings. For example Sundays flight leaves Alicante at 4.35 and arrives in Shannon at 6.35. Shannon to Alicante then departs at 7pm and arrives in Alicante at 22.40.
If it was Shannon based theyd leave at 4.35 and arrive back in Shannon at 22.40. You can even see with Faro. 5 out of six flights are operated by Faro based aircraft and crew.
They wont recruit either until they announce a extra aircraft. Same happened in Cork when they got there 4th based.
Understand, I just imagined it could be a Shannon flight. I guess when you are seeing that many flights not Shannon based its a goood sign that the airport is competing for additional capacity.

All airports are competing for new routes and increase in freq. Cork is the same and flying it.

Could well be a Reus based aircraft (not seen the times), FR have a pretty decent base there
they don’t have a base in Reus. It’s all by the Shannon base. It’s just Barcelona and Girona that have a base

Not sure. Ryanair have always done this. They load them into the app and mark them as sold out. Then a few days later they go live on website

Jesus, why does every single news outlet have to quote directly from the Ryanair press release? There's no such plane as a 737 Gamechanger! It's a MAX 8 200 or a 737-8200. Even Shannon Airport just quoted the whole press release verbatim on their website.
I know it's a small thing, but it really annoys me.

Shannon recieved approval to update to update the arrivals area of the terminal. Itll be pretty impressive once complete. The images of what it will look like area in the scanned files tab in the link below.

Up to around 2020, someone used to regularly post the CSO stats for Shannon. I presume these are still available?
