Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
Ah now. Don't be silly. They played the first one in 2018. And were absolutely brilliant. Nobody would be complaining.
and they played pod/aiken Lankum thing this year. Usual pod/aiken repeat situation.
Could it be The Darkness? Just announced a UK tour today. Another one could be Stereophonics?
Just be odd announcing a day later. Saw rumours of Iron Maiden announcing tomorrow
What’s Overdrive?
It's going to be Maiden, mainly based on 80's stuff, leak went up on italian site today but quickly removed
Rock/metal music based site, not actually promoters putting on shows I believe
Might be of interest…
MAiden have just now put up a teaser image/video of some alleyway, assume full thing will have Eddie in it tomorrow morning.
Wonder will it be Belfast date though
Dublin- "Run For Your Lives" World tour 25-26 from Iron Maiden to Fear Of The Dark. Guessing it'll be Marlay Park or RDS
Meh if true, never really got into Iron Maiden.
Thought would be Belfasts turn for a show here. Then again, didn't think would be anyone too big
Saw Maiden twice with last one been in 2017 (with Shinedown as support) and have no intrest is seeing them again but nice for the loyal fans. Wonder will it be 'Marlay Park' or 'Malahide' ? Doubt they'd sell out Aviva or Croke Park (AC/DC would have way more casual fans)
Quicker return then expected, they played in June 2023 during one of the busiest days in Dublin. Big shows in Malahide and Marlay as well as been Dublin Pride
I'd say if Dublin it would be the 3Arena again
yeah I’d say so. More expensive tickets to make up for smaller capacity
Outdoors
Its Maiden
Saw them in the 3arena last time they played thought they were brilliant, was looking forward to the announcement until I saw it was outdoors,
A lot of the production value will be lost which I thought was brilliant in the 3arena, saw Kylie has an announcement today as well so busy day for gig announcements
Isle of a Wight announcement coming Monday so maybe Kylie could be on that as she just announced a new album
Buzzcocks playing Galway. Presumably some other dates already announced or about to be.
Saturday the 22nd at The Academy for Dublin.
Metallica touring the US Apr, May, Jun next year and have said will be going Down Under later in the year.
Europe therefore not too likely and Ireland very unlikely i would say.
once a decade is all that ireland will get. We are a small country after all and they’ve been touring the multi nights/no repeats shows for last few years which would never lend itself to ireland
I think the two nights thing could actually work in the Aviva, they don't actually play that many shows when they tour anymore, basically just the two shows per week, so there would be thousands of people coming from the UK and the US. Why do it here though when they can be sure it'll sell better in London where they haven't actually done a stadium show in years either.
they wouldn’t sell 100,000 tickets for two nights in aviva. no promoter or their agent wouldn’t even contemplate such a booking. download festival was the uk exclusive for the two nights show in the UK and realistically it was best audience for that show.
It's not 100k tickets though, it's 50k weekend tickets, usually they don't put the individual day tickets on sale right away.
Anyway I'm not saying it'll happen, just that I think it would do well enough considering the amount of people who would travel from rest of the Europe and the US for it.
Anyway, looks like they've recently announced that it's US and Aus/NZ only next year.
I caught that tour when they kicked it off in Amsterdam, it's an amazing live show and the production, that type of show is ideal for people living within the city itself or for people like myself making a weekend holiday out of it,
It's a big commitment to book that when realistically it's going to be a 3/4 day event like I can't see people travelling from Cork to Dublin up and down twice in 2-3 days for a gig even with it being Metallica and if you want to book accomodation you'll be talking near 1k for 3-4 nights in Dublin.
If we were ever to have had them here it would have been on one of the dates that kicked off the entire tour because if you wanted to see them you had 2 years and plenty of shows to catch that's what I did and I found the 2 days far better setlist wise than Slane which I was at
Darn looks like no Toploader for Dublin
Think the Belfast show was announced first and it it's own 'section of the tour'. The Dublin was added part of the European tour 😔
Guess no dancing in the moonlight for Dublin. Oh well
We'll still be beautiful though
