Following on from main thread in Current Affairs about Tubs in general (now closed and mod suggestion that Entertainment category is more suitable).
Indeed, entertainment in certain respects is what Tubs has provided, albeit perhaps in a way not intended. And still awaiting 150k payback to the licence fee holder.
And of course, his new career in Virgin Radio which is imminent.

I have been advised on another fourm that Jermaine Jenas has not been sacked by the BBC, nor was Jim Jennings from RTÉ, and in fairness to both they are not here to defend themselves so I think you should be very careful of what you say, I mean its not like either have access to the Media or their own representation!
back already? That was a quick 2 weeks !
oops it’s was only a day, my mistake….
A bit of trolling from RTE with the article on the first show of the new LLS season:
"I hope Ryan thinks I'm doing a good job."

Not on this morning, so no need for me to turn the dial today from Q102 for the duration of his show.
it’s the launch night of the Late Late Show season 2 post Tubridy so it’s obviously a difficult day
Maybe he won tickets for it.
either that or making the best of Aer Lingus mid week flight deals
Given Mr. Jennings continued poor health one would opine he’s unlikely to engage in legal proceedings at this time. I pray that one day he and Dee Forbes can find the strength to answer the many questions their separate completely credible and not in any way fabricated illnesses unfortunately made their availability in front of the Oireachtas hearings impossible last year. I’m sure it weighs heavily upon them that the questions they have answers to remain unanswered and unknown to the general public and the politicians who sat on those committees at this time.
Hopefully they can sleep at night with their pensions to keep them warm.
Maybe he's a guest on it?
Just say he was, what would be the angle?
Would we see a repentant donning sack clothe, because I can't see RTE allowing him otherwise.
Tubridy brings an oversized cheque with him as he walks onto the stage……….
I think himself, Dee Forbes and Jim Jennings will be on to call out everyone on boards.ie, I mean its not like any of them could open an account on this site.
RTE definitely seems to be in the "Bryan who?" era with the LLS. It is raising the costs of advertising on the Toy Show this year.
https://www.independent.ie/business/media/rte-puts-up-price-of-ad-slots-on-late-late-toy-show/a2097289910.html
..
Despite this increase RTE will continue to struggle and will be looking for more government bailouts in future, bet they have their eye on the Apple Tax.
When you get out of the lift and head through the doors to the station office space, what strikes you is the atmosphere which is so joyous and very collegial. It’s a case of everyone being in it together. That may seem a little airy fairy but after nine months here, I can tell you, it’s true. The other thing I love about it is you never know who you might meet.
Having interviewed the great and the good for 20 years, I tend to know most of the guests that come in. This week, I stopped in to reconnect with Graham Norton who was in to talk about his new book. We had a lovely conversation that focussed on how I had adapted to London (the character in his book, Frankie, left Ireland for London so we had a good laugh about that).
Trump v Kamala
With a hot coffee and eyes like saucers, I watched as an energetic Kamala Harris took lumps out of a jaded Trump. Watching it as live, I found myself picking out the parts that I suspected would be ‘clippable’, the soundbites that would dominate TikToks, reels and news headlines for the following 24 hours. Harris clearly had excellent debate prep as she knew how to needle her opponent. As soon as she mocked his rallies for being ‘boring’, it was obvious the fireworks would kick off.
Trump’s hooded eyes shot up and sure enough, off he went with a bonkers defence of his bizarre gatherings. As if that wasn’t crazy enough, his claim that migrants were eating cats and dogs put the cherry on top of what was a classy win for Team Harris.
https://evoke.ie/2024/09/15/entertainment/ryan-tubridy-kate-winslet-work
The irony of him mentioning a collegiate atmosphere at work, and how everyone is in it together, after what he did in RTE. He has some hard neck. He got photos with Kate Winslet, Gary Lightbody etc, but he virtually sprinted out a book signing, last week, with Stephen Fry and Helena Bonham-Carter present. Doesn't sound very believable.
Still hasn't risen above the Junior Cert "what I did on my holidays" level essay. Perhaps it appeals to his fanbase. Some of it will probably have moved on to Callan by now.
Daily Mail on Sunday. And for having a depth of experience that he has he should be able to write a bit better. I think you're being insulting to the DM, they aren't The Sun or The Star.
As am I, who does have a novel in them.
I’m thinking of writing a book myself actually.
Bobson I would advise against that considering the type of people you seem to admire, I think your judgement of character may be a bit different to 95% of Ireland.
If you are going to self-publish I doubt Tubs or Kelly management will buy the 2 copies.
It's not exactly a big achievement in this country.
*Literary flair
Tubs must have wrote he's reply for him 😂.
*his
Intentional 😉.
well he had to take whatever work he can find
Yeah terrible that he had to lower himself.
I remember when the phrase "airy fairy" became offensive two years ago.
The tanaiste leo varadalkar and other oireachas members wanted michael healyrae to reflect and take back those words, and even apologise when he used the words in the dail. The debate went on for days. Healy rae went on liveline to discuss with joe. Joe was reasonable as always, superb host, so professional.
I wonder will ryan make a public apology for using homophobic language, reflect and take it back?
Good job that the column is only printed in the Irish Mail on Sunday rather than the English one.
In the Evoke "article" there's a pic of Graham Norton right underneath that paragraph 🤣.
No offense intended, I have actually started also. Oh! someone else, I can't speak for them. But my comment was not personal.
