Was hoping when I heard that a Coffee shop was going into Westside that it was going to be where the pub was. Thats been a derelict unit for close to a decade now.
It was derelict even when it was open…
ReOpening this coming Thursday, Sepetember 12 at 08:00hrs
Your not wrong. Be great to have it utilised for something
Methadone clinic maybe?
Has Neo down the docks closed down? When I pass it looks like it has but no update on any social media since 2022?
Yep, it’s been closed a few months now. There is some renovation going on in there at the moment, presume it’ll be something similar again. The Costcutter store at Bonham Quay is now open also.
They closed for a "holiday" in August last year, and never came back again.
Running the forge in moycullen now
Are the family from Neo also running the new pub in Cross St?
Yes.
If that's what your into, prefer to see something more family oriented here TBH like a Cafe.
Looks fantastic from the outside. They were polishing and smoothing the concrete car park ground earlier! Other nearby stores look ragged and derelict in comparison
If does, I was in town this morning, but forgot to swing by…
In it this morning.... Vast improvement on the last one that was there which wasn't hard.... . It's similar in finish to knocknacarra. It's lidl
It seems to be huge! and they have good opening offers like a 700w microwave for €40 or a 2x4.5l air fryer for €50
Has self service checkout too!
Costa in the ESC has reopened.
Just make sure to keep your receipt handy as you need it to get out the barrier at those checkouts. Massive improvement on the old store anyway.
Yea, that was a bit strange
Card only a disappointment and squeezes out some types of shoppers. Tho the hot chocolate on the way in smelled yummy.
It takes people out of the cash queue however.
Is the whole store is Card Only, or just the Self Service.
The "Cash is King" crowd would have a big overlap with the "I don't work for LIDL" rabble.
I dont know, I was only in that section.
I'd be very confident it's that section only.
Even in Dunnes and Tesco, about half the self-service checkout are card-only.
If it keeps the slow people who clog up the self service areas away then I'm all for it. They can queue at the regular tills.
That's a point, but it also excludes those who don't like the increased interactions/crowding that come with having to queue and pay a person when there is technology that mitigates that stress.
They literally just have to use the stress-mitigating technology!
Hearing "unexpected item in the baggage area" always mitigates my stress.....
I like the Tesco Self Scanner system, would love it Dunnes took it up, makes hitting the mark for the 10 off 50 vouchers easier.
