I’d say the Metro will be built first.
Prob another 2 years….
Still gathering evidence, building safety cases to increase ops….
But the regulator is SSSLOOOOOOWWWWWWWW, and not helping this timeline whatsoever.
It's not like a motorway where you plonk it down and use it…. you need to ramp up over time, proving incrementally that increase OPS can be handled safely.
Not sure if the 10L use for departures will ever be lifted though….seems like a clustf*ck with noise restrictions (bit like how Heathrow 09L is rarely used for departures).
It's something like:
1)Baseline ops
2)increase load or use new setup for limited time
3)collate evidence for support of new baseline
4)send to regulator for review and approval
5)If approved, move to step 1 with new baseline, if rejected return to 1 with current baseline
The aircraft wasn't between FL 245 and FL 660. Looks like it was around 2500ft most of the time, and under 10000 nearly all of the time it was over NI. Not saying that isn't Scottish FIR or UIR or whatever, but I'm not sure that section proves it.
the A400? It was in Scottish airspace all the time…
The post you referenced was directed to Victor about the upper airspace over Donegal being delegated to Prestwick, and being considered Scottish airspace:
"
Procedures and communications will be as if this airspace were an integral part of the Scottish UIR.
Torrential rain just passed over Knock Airport. Looks like flight from Cologne is slightly affected. Runway flooded for a while maybe?
Any reason for Etihad using a 777-300 this evening over the 787-9 they usually use in the evening? That’s two Etihad B777s in Dublin today!
Rose of Tralee traffic.

The fun has started in Cork with FR7888 inbound having a go-around due to winds from the west. Could be an interesting night.

Six flights inbound and I'd be surprised if any of them land!
Well that aged well, they all landed.
What was going on here? https://www.flightradar24.com/EIN1936/36ca388d
College football flyover. It has a thread
Ah, thanks - will have a look at that. The idea that there might be some sort of 'aviation' happening for that was on my 'radar', but then I forgot about it!
Two aircraft flying backwards and forward over Galway city both of the same type and same company I pressume some type of survey.

AN-124 just off the SE coast, heading over Wexford town shortly.

Edit… Looks like it's dropping into Shannon.
what was the low flying helicopter around 00.55 local around north Dublin..Finglas, Glasnevin, Balllymun areas, didn’t show up for me anyway on ADS-B exchange although I’m a complete novice using that , and wasn’t on FR24 either….
Seriously loud and my thinking based on that, seriously low which is weird for the time in such a built up area…. I’m hearing again now in the distance but not on any app, that I’m seeing anyway….. thanks.
Traffic monitoring for the Coldplay concert. Roads around Croke Park would have been congested around that time.
Not at 00:55 surely?
Had it normal navigation lights etc? I have seen similar a few weeks ago, though a bit distant from me. Noisy enough and I thought it might be some sort of large drone rather than a conventional helo.
I've been hearing something with a fenestron (so presumably not a drone) late at night. Not particularly loud.
Garda EC135, most likely.
How does the fenestron affect the sound, out of interest?
More whine, less whomp-whomp. Listen to an Airbus Helicopters / Eurocopter / Aerospatial helicopter against something else.
Its over Dublin 6 now. Not tracked.
Ryanair flight Dublin to Beauvais hit birds earlier on take off from 28R. It landed back after a few mins on 28L. 28R was closed for inspection but might be reopen now
Heard a Helicopter pass overhead twice in a short length of time.
EI-ICG is on an interesting path…. Hope everything is OK
I'm within a few km of Baldonnel so get Garda and Air Corps helicopters over here regularly, and occasionally the Coast Guard. Garda ASU passed over this morning and, now that you mentioned it, the whine of the fenestron and the whomp of the main rotors could both be distinctly made out.
Anyone know what happened here?
Pilot training.
As somebody on here also pointed out, the T on the end of the flight-number refers to training.
