I wonder how this will work out for him

Then why are you demonstrating ignorance of the reason he is currently in jail??
To wind you up.
another Burke baby on the way
When was he "made to call a student by a transgender name"?
He had no interaction whatsoever with that student.
Explain exactly how I'm showing ignorance of why he's in jail.
When I have written in several posts, that he has been arrested again for repeatedly going to wilsons school in Westmeath
Kindly show me how I'm showing ignorance for the reason that he is in jail
No, but if he can't put the welfare of his students first then his position as a teacher is untenable. Also, there is the matter of the Gender Recognition Act, so if the student is over 16 and has obtained a court order and consent from parent or guardian they are legally recognised in their preferred gender. While we don't know the circumstances of the student involved, they may have recourse to take action against the school, which could deem Enoch's conduct toward the student illegal. Then of course, there is his conduct toward the principal, which should be grounds for dismissal anyway.
Because you keep claiming he was discriminated against when for that to happen action would have needed to be taken by the school due to his refusal to use the students preferred pronouns, this never happened, he was disciplined for separate actions pertaining to his behavior towards the principal.
Applicable case law in countries with even weaker protection for minority rights / stronger protection for religious rights (UK, identical case in terms of teacher, student, preferred names/pronouns) would indicate that no, his religious beliefs cannot outweigh other peoples rights and he'd lose the case with costs against him.
But as no such thing ever happened in the first place, this is an irrelevant distraction. He got suspended for abusing the principal at a public event; that's it.
Imagine being as thick and ignorant as this shower of fools (the burkes)… it begs belief!!
I just think that the whole case is hypocritical.
We live in Ireland which is still a deeply Christian country.
We have had the Christian religion forced on us at a lot of stages.
Most schools are still Christian schools
Even now, i know families who dont believe in religion at all, feel that they forced to make their childen christian, in order to grt their child a school place.
so we have had the christian religion shoved on us in irish society since we were young.
The Christian religion does not believe in homosexuality or transgenderism.
Now this man who was brought up christian in a predominantly christian country , says his christian eliefs, that he doesn't believe in transgenderism.
And he is mocked for that. When that is what he was told to believe from a young age.
I agree he overreacted and his behaviour wasn't great.
However the whole thing just leaves a sour taste
Major issue with your argument here:
Burke isn't Catholic.
The rest is all terrible too, but you fall apart on the core element.
LOL he's an evangelical christian….and its a protestant school, yeah you know nothing about any of this.
Yeah I wrote that wrong. I'm on a bus. I meant to type Christian. Fixed now.
Did you read my post?
Seriously?! Do you have a link please?
The post you edited after seeing 2 posts mocking you for not knowing key details about this fiasco? Yeah I read it, you are still wrong.
And you think that you don't make errors in posts?
You called Wilson's hospital school, a Protestant school.
They would never call themselves a Protestant school.
I live in Westmeath and I know many people who went to the school. They are a Church of Ireland school
Says the poster who hasn't a clue about things, himself
I know many people who are CoI and happily call themselves protestant, semantics don't make you any less wrong when referencing catholicism as you did multiple times in relation to this topic.
Go you! You've said the same exact thing twice now.
Instead of having a pop at me
Do you - you know- want to actually contribute anything to the thread?
Do you have any thoughts on the case?
We've been through this numerous times. A teacher has to teach the curriculum of the school and if that school has a certain ethos then no matter what the teacher's beliefs, they suck it up and get on with it or look for a teaching post elsewhere. The school policy on addressing TG students was passed down by the board and like that, if he has any sort of opposition to that policy then he would have been better framing it in the context of what is best for the school and not his own personal beliefs. The courts indeed, have already reiterated that his right to practice his religion has not been interfered with, so any claim for compensation will be rightly laughed out of it.
Jog on Enoch.
Fine if they want to dismiss him.
Jailing him again is a bit controversial. If you look at the international news sites today, most commenters are in Enochs favour. They think the reaction to what he did is extreme. They are all talking about freedom of speech, and that jailing him is extreme
I know he doesn't do himself any favours by continually going to wilsons hospital school.
I wonder how long they'll keep him in jail this time
He’s free to have his beliefs everyone is, he’s not free from being mocked and isn’t free to carry on as he wants to his boss without consequences just like he can’t ignore the judges orders without consequences, in that he’s just like everyone else.
Ive made multiple contributions to this thread correcting many like you who have no clue about this issue, now please explain how he was discriminated against?
If he stayed away from the school, as per the PERMANENT INJUNCTION against him, then he wouldn't be in jail.
I've already said that. Can you read?
And there you go again, talking about other posters, without making one of your own comments about this case.
Go on then, what are your thoughts?
..
RIght I honestly don't care about him that much to talk about it on here for longer than I have done already.
There are some interesting articles about him on the international news sites today. There's a video of him being arrested to.
I'll leave you to it.
Yes he wasn't discriminated against as that would require action to have been taken towards him due to his beliefs, that never happened ergo…..
We are all here for a short time, not a sh1te time. While I don't feel pity for them, I do think it is a sad thing that a person misses out on the joy that this world can bring through, initially, no fault of their own.
