I think you can appeal to the Supreme Court if the court of appeal decides against you but it’s unlikely they’d entertain it.
Of course this is all done to delay the inevitable.
He stated to the High Court that an individual on the appeal board(thats the appeal against the ruling from the school board) was a LGBT+ sympathizer. The High Court could find no evidence that the individual held anything against Enoch. Enoch then took that ruling to the Court of Appeal. Presumeably after that decision, he will appeal to the Supreme Court.
Supreme Court can, and often do, refuse to take an appeal from the CoA.
If you reckon someone is trolling, report the post. When I need your advice on posting strategy, I'll let you know.
His objection was that he claimed one of the members of the DAP, Mr Kieran Christie of ASTI, was a "promoter or transgenderism".
Enoch Burke loses challenge to remove “promoter of transgenderism” from appeals panel • GCN
Enoch is undermining any validity his beliefs may carry by insisting on defying the law of the land.
The whole concept of home-schooling needs to be reconsidered and properly regulated.
I think it is pretty well regulated already. My best mate in secondary school was homeschooled until age 15. Initially he went into the year below me but it soon became clear he was about 2 years ahead of everyone.
No amount of regulation can prevent Mrs Burke types indoctrination of their children.
many people have bad parents and turn out fine. it's the weak ones that have adopted their parents way of thinking
I think the father is just as culpable, one is as bad as the other, father is facilitating the ex teacher getting to his previous place of employment
And , from a purely academic perspective she did a good job - They all went to University and got Degrees and Post grad qualification etc.
Very very hard to argue that their religious views aren't allowed as much as people don't agree with them.
The grounds for taking an appeal against a Court of Appeal judgment to the Supreme Court are very limited and the bar is set very high. This is deliberate as the Court of Appeal was set up to unclutter the Supreme Court's list and to free the latter up. In brief, to get an appeal into the Supreme Court you have to set out either (1) that the matter is of public importance or (2) that the matter should be heard in the interests of justice (i.e. the COA judgment was plain wrong). A three bench panel of Supreme Court Justices review every case and make a simple yea or nay decision based on your written submission on whether or not to grant leave to appeal (i.e. permit the case to get a hearing). "I don't like the COA decision, could youse ever have another look at it please and thanks" is definitely not going to get you into the Supreme Court.
The Burkes might well be geniuses but they're the most unemployable family in the country. Given how at least two of them haven't taken their employers' "No" for an answer, any prospective employer would probably bin any Burke CV as a matter of course. It might lead to any Burke from any other Burke family having their CV binned just in case they're related to them.
Any Burke looking for a job will probably have to change their name or spend the rest of their lives on the dole.😛
Ta Raichu, Ezeoul, LambshankRedemption & Hibernicis. At times the Burkes succeed in their bafflement.
yeah that’s why I said he can appeal to the Supreme Court but they are very unlikely to listen to it.
Frankly I doubt the CoA is going to listen to his appeal either considering the high court were very clear the application had no merit and was clearly designed to delay the appeal process for his dismissal.
when all this insanity ends,i hope he takes them for millions, stay strong my man,you have lots of supporters👍️
I think it's a bit much to keep him in jail all this time.
He could argue that he is entitled to believe his own religious beliefs
If he doesn't believe in transgenderism, and the school were insisting on him calling a student "they", there was always going to be a clash.
Nobody's stopping him believing his own religious beliefs.
He can believe away to his heart's content.
Regarding your above statement .
The school sent around an email insisting that all teachers call a student "they".
So if you said that nobody's stopping him believing his own beliefs - do you agree that he had the right to refuse to do what that email asked him to do?
Why does he keep going back to wilsons school anyway. What is he trying to do. Get his job back all this time later?
What a waste of time. If i were him I'd go and teach abroad they would probably still employ him in another country
Mo. He was working in the school. They make the rules.
He could have resigned and continue to believe his beliefs.
An employer is not allowed to discriminate against you based on your religious beliefs.
As he is an extremist and not doing things reasonably, He's going about it totally the wrong way.
He should get a solicitor to sue the school for religious discrimination.
Instead he keeps going to the school, where of course they are going to arrest him for breaching orders.
He certainly doesn't do himself any favours
Would it be under his employment contract with the school that he has to abide by directions set out by the board?
He wasn't discriminated against, as far as I am aware.
I hope he smashes that record
In law he would definitely have a case for religious discrimination.
His religion doesn't believe in transgenderism. He was made to call a student by a transgender name.
He would definitely have a case for compensation.
at least daddy got a lie in this morning with mammmy 😘
When was he discriminated against? The reason he was disciplined had nothing to do with him refusing to call a student by their preferred pronouns therefore he wasn't discriminated against.
You clearly know none of the backstory.
What?
Is there anyone in Ireland who doesn't know the backstory?
Sure he's been in the news for a long long time.
Of course everyone knows the back story.
