Huh? Was a very poor month for me, worse than April/May/June and July
Oh actually come to think of it, it might have something to do with 2 extra kwp which were not there in May 😅
I think you need more panels🤪
I've had a decent August in East Cork.
50.6kwh yesterday and looks similar for today. About 7-8% down on July I'd say.
June was my highest generating month followed by July with August looking like it will only be 50kWh behind it.
A great end to the month has saved August from being a fairly drab month solar wise.
704, 693, 755 & 723 are my yields for last 4 months, rescued by the 40 today and yesterday :-)
7.5kwh south facing
Produced 792 kwh for August, 833 kwh for July, 906 kwh for June, 796 kwh for May
Produced 630 kwh for August, 690 kwh for July, 780 kwh for June, 690 kwh for May
Galway 6kwh SE/SW
August (785kWh) worse than April here (804kWh); May, June & July all better too. Peak was 987kWh in June.
Why though? Its wasted generation. You'll be a while seeing the return on the investment.
Why what?
54.2kwh today in East Cork. Great end to August.
Whats the point spending the money on a system capable of producing 50kw in a day.
I used 49.9kwh today
Out of interest with what size of an array
If you can export 40 of it for 18-25c a kWh sure helps the payback
If you have it you'll use it somehow, I think the other day will be last 60kwh of the year though 😥
And yeah, between two cars and a big battery bank, can store up to 170kwh so 50 a day is not that much after all.
Managed 25kwh yeaterday that made August the best month of the year for me, beat out June by 10kwh
667kwH for August, that was below April (690), May (760), June (893) and July (768) for me. Very disappointing, hopefully get a decent September. 8kw E/W split, Galway
You understand what FIT is?
Yes. Correct me if im wrong they dont actually pay you for it but give you a credit against your bill? And not even at the same kw price you pay the provider with some of the providers. I cant really see the point of investing thousands in that scenario. I have a decent system and am in credit but i dont produce the likes of a MW per month or even 750kw. No point.
Air conditioning/electric heating. 2 electric cars. Hot water. Produced 54.2kwh yesterday and used 50kwh. Of course there's a point. Everyone's energy use is different.
my electricity provider paid me out €900 so far this year. I buy all my electricity @ 5c and sell to grid @ 25c so there is a point.
You technically probably don't buy it all at 5c
Theres a 200 euro credit in your account from your exports which is whats probably reducing what you pay for any you buy to 5c
Thats the way my power company plans on doing it anyway
They will post me a cheque for the rest of the exports but that has to be taxed as income
not bragging more wondering : I’ve been keeping an eye on production posts since my installation at Christmas. 9/8 SE SW split. 7.4kwh in cork.
seems to be performing well in relation to systems same size or bigger.
March 744, May 858, June 986, July 900, August 782. ( would have broken the megawatt in June only for a full day and a half without power🙈)
5.4mwh for the year to date

Tracking very close to you on 6.5kw when I adjust for your larger system size. Cork City based. 6 panels east 9 south. Id say not putting the east ones on west side has cost me bit. Only have system since beginning of May. You did about 9% more in July. That was poor month for me. Im tracking almost spot on to the yield forecast for May-Aug but August was much better than expected.
I’m in Galway . SE/SW split . You are 2% better than me for the last 4 months when I adjust for system size
4% YTD. Your pitch must be a lot better than mine for winter sun
Well summer is truly over, 2.3kwh for the day.
19kw in Galway . Summer just arrived
Anything within +/- 10% you can take as the same. So many variables. Panel temperature efficiency co-efficients, inverter operational capacity, local weather micro-climates (e.g I'm close to the Dublin hills and people 5 km to the north get a good bit more sun even though we're both in "Dublin")
2% different is nothing. Could easily be 2% difference in the opposite way the following month
A tale of 2 days, not even winter yet but shows the difference a day or 2 can make, sun vs overcast/rain! 31st August 29.7kWh vs 2nd September 3kWh (Fingal)
