Well never thought id see the day..i know its that rag reporting it but their generally right on these kinda things. I guess thats our multiple nights in Croke Park band sorted for next Summer then✌
No! You price your show to ensure a good return for all stakeholders. If 10 people want tickets or 100,000 the price should be the price initially quoted. There are ways of dealing with touts and protecting your product that don’t involve you yourself turning into the criminal. As I said before, it’s not published what the breakdown in dynamic pricing is.
At least if you meet a tout on your way to the gig asking for €1,000 you can just cut your losses and walk away. Keeping people hanging in queues for tickets you are touting is nite pernicious IMHO
No.
Also why are you getting involved in a conversation that had absolutely nothing to do with you
Now that the dust has settled, absolutely delighted to be sorted.
Presale was handy enough last night, 10k in que and managed to get two seating bit will hopefully sort standing leading up to it.
Still doesn't feel real. The pricing has left a sour taste for those today who got stung but unfortunately was expected but something has to be done about it.....its immoral
That being said had I not got the standard tickets and been offered 350 would I have got them......yes.....its one of those gigs that's priceless for me. Will be putting money aside and pay whatever for 1st night in Cardiff closer to it
These two men started an obsession with Live music for me that changed my life when I was a child. Have travelled all over the world seeing them solo with my mates and they've given me some of the best days of my life.....was happy enough with liams solo tour being as close to seeing oasis.....but here we are
This band means alot to people and glad to see most of the die hards got sorted in presale.
Do people reckon the €500 tickets will be easy enough to shift on ticketmaster resale?
But it's not Ticketmaster making that money. Do you think that Ticketmaster are taking the excess money added on? Oasis get €187 and Ticketmaster take the rest?
Of course not, the money goes to the artists and those organising the show. I'd rather than then the money go to scalpers.
In the era of the scalper, they actually make much more money from gigs than the artist does in a scenario like that. I prefer the version where the money goes to the right place.
And the bonus that the tickets actually end up cheaper. Everyone wins.
I've seen the band twice and the lads independently too. But it's showbusiness, with the emphasis on business.
If you could have a party with 100 friends and they were all gonna bring a €100 gift or you could have a party with 100 strangers and they would all bring €1,000 gift, which would you chose?
I would have loved to go see them again but when I got into purchase zone I wasn't prepared to pay 400+ for a pitch ticket or €490 for a seat in the gods.
Absolutely. They're still cheaper than any ticket on a second hand site.
(not that it justifies the price before any of the triggered brigade get set off).
They weren’t even an option. They turned off all options but Platinum, it was more expensive and lucrative than the original vip packages!!
You’re a fool if you think TM are not benefiting from this. They are of course, not directly but through the other companies in the cosy monopoly.
Ok!
They are indeed making more money. Their charges are a percentage of each ticket price and you can bet your bottom dollar that they get a cut of the sale price also.
Why can't i even go into ticketmaster to view other artists. Every time I go to the ticketmaster homepage, it says again "you are in a queue".
It doesn't let me look at any other concerts going on.
So oasis is stopping us from getting in to see any other concerts?
Yes seeing as you'll be selling to people around the world
Where are they very clear about random spots in the queue? This is what their website says. First-come, first-served.
"During high-demand sales, tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and aren’t guaranteed. We recommend joining the waiting room 15 minutes prior to the event going on sale."

415 Euro for a ticket is taking the piss.
If you go with a friend it will cost about a grand for a night out.
But what was the "Price quoted"? There was none, just "Prices from…." which is normal.
Mrs got to the front of the queue and it said she was a bot
Just saying what's happening online.
On the main news sites, People are now calling for ticketmaster to be investigated for financial crimes. They are saying that ticketmaster are a "tout masquerading as a legitimate business'
But i'm not saying they're not benefiting. i'm saying that the excess money does not go to TM, like people seem to be claiming is the case.
Correct. SO I didn't buy them.
SOmeone else did, and that's their decision. I hope they have a wonderful time
You can choose to price your gig that way if you're performing or organising a gig. Oasis have clearly decided that they'd rather not price their gig that way, and that they'd charge different prices to different people for the same tickets. That's their choice, its their gig.
you’re just waffling now. There were set prices for standing and seating published. The actual prices charged are well above. There’s bio “from”. “From” is excusing their bullshit, like “up to” in speed quotes from broadband providers. They aren’t exactly squeaky clean either.
Link?
So much for Oasis being the band "for the people".
In fairness it's all a bit reactionary but it's not wrong either.
Everything about events in this day and age is just scalping. The price of pints is extortionate, accommodation is highway robbery, the tickets themselves an absolute joke.
Nice of Oasis to reform at the end of bloody August as well, back to school costs and post holiday wallet rot are a big factors at this time of year for a lot of people.
All in all this went as many of us would have assumed.
The 24 hour news outrage cycle on full display. The media absolutely love this.
It will all be forgotten about early next week.
Can you show me where the prices were advertised? The ads I saw said "Prices from…." which is normal.
People complaining about cost of living while queueing to pay 400 euro a ticket to a band that was popular in the 90s.
Here
