Whoever tours Ireland next has to use Ticketmaster. With no other choice, ticketmasters reputation could be in the gutter or in the sky, it won't make a difference.
The music industry has shears been full of shisters. I’m sure if TM weren’t gouging favs for inflated ticket prices they’d be getting it some other way.
What should be tackled is one company shoukd nit be involved in the entire concert lifecycle. Live Nation will plan your tour, set you up in their venues and sell tickets. via their Ticketmaster arm for you. If you own and run venues you should be be allowed also sell tickets and vice cersa. Also no nudge, nudge, wink, wink, bs split companies either.
Sour grapes see no gender. I've yet to actually see a solution here. Not only that, i'm not really sure I see a problem. They sold all the tickets, plenty were at the cheaper price. The tout has effectively been cut out. That's a good thing. If you had a chance to pay €415 and didn't, that's on you. If you didn't, you wouldn't have anyway
Oh my god, not ticketmasters reputation? this happens with every single big outdoor gig, people get pissy because they didn't get a ticket and have to blame someone, and next week when another big band announces a tour, we'll hear the same thing from pissy people.

Something about this feels so wrong about this. They came out with the “we dislike touts” before the pre-sale. I’d imagine they’ll keep schtum about ticketmaster (&themselves ) ripping everyone a new backside.

Do you see anybody who got tickets giving out? No, people lost a random drawing and as always ticketmaster gets blamed, meanwhile over a million heads are sitting at home smiling because they did get tickets to one of the shows.

That is not the buyers fault. That is definitely ticketmasters fault.
The technology of the ticketmaster is not fit to cope with hundreds of thousands of people at once. The tech on that site is like something you'd see in 2010

But whether tickets were available from one of 73 vendors, demand would have been the same. It wouldn't have changed anything.
Appreciate it, however I've been to tonnes of gigs this summer and you'd actually be surprised how many chancers buy these tickets,
I was at Taylor Swift and two women bought tickets for the wheelchair area because you get the companion / carer ticket for free, to cut a long story short they were half cut by the time she came out, annoyed the shite out of everyone and ended up being put into GA standing , tickets are not verified at all anyone can buy them unfortunately
