Well never thought id see the day..i know its that rag reporting it but their generally right on these kinda things. I guess thats our multiple nights in Croke Park band sorted for next Summer then✌
Ticketmaster could definitely improve their process
If more gigs aren't added, there won't be plenty more tickets. Coldplay and Taylor Swift proved that point and their queue numbers were nowhere near as high as the Oasis ones.
*Stops rocking on chair on my porch and lifts lid of hat*
These type of issues with Ticketmaster are not new. Unfair distribution of tickets and pricing, website crashing, bots/touts getting tickets easier than everyone else, have been going on for decades.
Better regulation of event tickets needs to be introduced. Ticketmaster have no interest of changing things unless they are forced.
Plenty of normal people paid those prices
They could improve their process. Why do it all online.
Ticketmaster could have a few ticketmaster pop up shops in dublin To sell tickets to locals.
Selling the tickets for the irish concerts fully online, means that we are competing with people from all over the world to buy tickets. We haven't a hope
The pricing isn’t really to do with Ticketmaster, it’s Oasis (or the artist themselves for other gigs)
One of my friends was the same, swore he wouldn't spend more than the regular ticket price.
Yet he's got a ticket in the UK where he'll pay significantly more that any of those VIP/platinum tickets. I'm not saying he's right or wrong but now his money will just be split between Ticketmaster, Oasis, Ryanair/Aer Lingus and a chain hotel. So in effect, he was happy to pay it.
Dynamic pricing is though
then you’d have people complaining about discrimination against non-Dublin people.
When demand massively outstrips supply, there is no system that can keep everyone happy.
taylor swift queue was already filtered down to only those with codes
They could maybe even LOOK at changing though.
Why keep going with the same process , that is not working very well, without trying to see if there are even any changes they could make
They used to do that, people would queue up at 8pm the night before and still have no guarantee of a ticket. But at least it was a fixed price
I would've been of the same opinion for gigs in the past but there are very little if any Coldplay tickets available at the moment, I thought there would've been loads looking to shift spare tickets this week but no.
The real problem is that they’re only playing a small number of shows. (At least what they’ve announced so far)
If they announced a whole world tour or even a European tour then it’d be easier to get tickets.
Probably people from all over the world trying to get tickets today.
people were on here moaning that garth setting one price was unfair was **** seats were same price as standing. Can’t win with some people
Very good. As long as people will pay the money, ticketmaster and the Artists will take it, and push it to the limits as to how much they can take in for ticket sales.
I've set my limit at €150 for a Coldplay ticket. Won't pay any more than that. Got in to the payment section for a €166 ticket on Thursday. Debated buying it. But closed out of it. I don't feel any regret. If I don't get a ticket for Coldplay this weekend, or Oasis next year, I won't lose any sleep over it. There are loads and loads of other gigs out there, that I can get a ticket for without any stress or wasting hours on refreshing ticketmaster. Thankfully, I don't get any FOMO on these things. I'd like to go, but not giving into the corporate greed. And I really like Oasis and Coldplay. Have seen Oasis 3 times before and they were very good. I just have my reservations on how this will go with the anomosity between the Gallaghers.
Anyway, I don't think enough people will ever realise how Ticketmaster and the musicians are taking the punters for a ride. And will continue to feed in to the shltty system that ticket selling has become.
I don't know if people would complain about discrimination of npn dublin people.
I'm not from Dublin myself.
I'd definitely prefer to drive to Dublin and queue for tickets, then enter an online queue with hundreds of thousands of other people
it’s the only suitable venue in the country.
If i was to speculate -
out of the 2 of them -
Yes Liam is a right gouger/lager lout scumbag type - but his heart in right place.
Noel - the quiet one - is more of a schemer/sneaky type and very enthusiastically fully signed off on dynamic pricing to rip off their “beloved Oasis army”
They are ticket sellers
They have sold every ticket.
How is that process not working well?
Why would they change it though?
They've sold all the tickets so it's working very well for them and ultimately everyone who got a ticket. Their servers being smashed isn't great but ultimately they've made their money.
Any change that would be positive in this space for the consumer would cost them more.
So unless they're forced to, they'll never volunteer to.
Sounds like you just have sour grapes bro!
I thought the same thing with Coldplay but there aren't any around.
After hours spent trying to get tickets, I had 2 in the cart for Edinburgh, standing. 700 pound and when I quickly checked flights, I just couldn't do it.
But people will pay it, and promoters, airlines and hotels will keep hiking the prices.
So who exactly is giving the green light for this "dynamic ticket pricing"?
Ive seen it posted that its all down to Liam and Noel. Even considering the "no-one is forced to pay" stance it shows a real disregard for fanbase.
Because it doesnt make ticketmaster look well. Their reputation is bad. Ticketmaster are the top news story today. People are calling them crooks, touts and unfair.
Yes they sold all the tickets. But if they do in an unfair way, it will damage the reputation of ticketmaster aswell.
Every news site is writing negative stories about ticketmaster today.
..
You could argue that they should have been more expensive
I'm a woman
The only good thing to come out of this **** show is ticketmaster getting a handle on multiple devices
