Well never thought id see the day..i know its that rag reporting it but their generally right on these kinda things. I guess thats our multiple nights in Croke Park band sorted for next Summer then✌
And I paid €127 in the presale for the same tickets you paid €167 for 😂
So what's behind all this crazy ticket demand like we've seen for Taylor Swift, Coldplay and Oasis and the crazy amounts people seem willing to pay for tickets?
We seem to have gone overnight from €100 being expensive to €300 or €400 tickets being snapped up.
You could certainly argue that £150 / €150 is around the upper limit that should be paid for an evening's entertainment. €415 wouldn't be far off a week's wages for many people in Ireland.
The worst thing to come out of covid was the closure of ticketmaster shops.
we live in a capitalist society whereby demand/supply affects price. Oasis aren’t able to perform enough shows to meet the demand for their services. They want to be well remunerated for their services. Hence a portion of their tickets are at the true market value of their worth. Fair priced tickets won’t be available in any such numbers next year. Deluded to think otherwise. It’s the same as premier league clubs selling more and more hospitality tickets which includes a free drink and burger for €700
Biggest acts around and a large amount of FOMO, friend offered me a ticket for 450 euros which I turned down but he ended up paying. Crazy money and one of the lads going with them has no money in the first place. And while we are in a cost of living crisis allegedly, there is obviously a lot of money going round
Seen Oasis in a-half empty Lansdowne in 2000. Got free tickets from my mates fathers work as no one wanted them. One of the worst shows I’ve ever seen. Where has the current demand come from?
It should absolutely be (and is) possible to tie tickets to the purchaser to prevent resale. Charging different prices for the same product is gouging no matter who is doing it be it hotels, bands, whoever.
Scalper prices were never reasonably priced until it looked like they couldn't sell them closer to the gig.
Since the real proliferation of buying tickets online, someone has screwed over gig-goers. It used to be professional scalpers. Now it's ticketmaster and their platinum tickets (albeit I'd argue that at least in Ireland, they're not as bad as professional scalpers were). And take a look at gigsberg if you think I'm wrong. The cheapest lower tier seat is €1700!
are all tickets sold out now for Dublin?
I can't access the site so can't check. Where's this 1:30PM announcement about extra dates?
I didn't say scalper prices were reasonable
I said ticket prices were reasonable and the (extortionate) scalper prices were the exception
Now were being scalped by trying to play fair
I'd pay 200 max. No more .
I think it would be fools money to pay 470 euro for two hours
After 5 hours starting at 270000 ahead of me to finally 1 ahead.
Then Ticketmaster kicks me out.
Session has been suspended and can't log in with anything else.
Time for beer
I heard on the radio that they've just invented a new word for "ticket rage"
Ticketmaster are every bit as bad as scalpers. This "dynamic pricing" is bullshit. The idea that tickets for concerts are priced, for example, from €85. There isn't a hope in hell it's €85.
Advertising them as "in demand" standing tickets at 4 to 5 times the original selling price is completely wrong.
Same as Taylor Swift last time where they gave away tens of thousands of tickets or else she wouldn't play the second night.
What does this mean?
After this mornings sh1tshow I which I didn't get tickets....
BLUR > OASIS 😂😂😂
anyone who got them.. Enjoy
Planned long before covid.
Done and dusted
Always preferred Blur anyway
Extra dates please and thanks but reckon it would of been announced by now
"Who do you prefer oasis or blur"
100 euro a ticket for both nights. What a time. The greed on show by all involved these days really is sickening.
Oasis and ticketmaster are top story on the dailymail now.
People are questioning why ticketmaster are allowed to sell tickets for three times the official price.
They said its because of "in demand pricing".
People are saying that ticketmaster are just as bad as touts
Ah, I'd say there'll be more announced in the next few hours..
I agree, but how much were people spending on CDs and singles back in 2002 compared to today? I understand that acts nowadays make nearly all their money from touring, not that it excuses some of the prices.
So it's offical: ticketmaster, who originally said that they would only sell tickets at face value, are selling tickets at three times the price
A lot of 90s nostalgia I guess and people trying to recapture their early years. It arguably was not a great decade for music, perhaps contributing to their 'cult' status nowadays.
My bad, I misread your post.
The other thing is artists getting in on it. Selling a vip ticket for twice the price because its a better seat and comes with a tote bag. Everyone is at it.
