Well never thought id see the day..i know its that rag reporting it but their generally right on these kinda things. I guess thats our multiple nights in Croke Park band sorted for next Summer then✌
Maybe noel should have got a pre nup.
Rip off
Haha!
Both Coldplay and Ed are amongst the top 5 names in the US,Oasis much as I love them are....well let's just say not quite at that level over there!
Also....the Olympic stadium in Seoul?.....
I lived in Seoul all through the early 00s.Oasis actually played there in about 05 to a 4k capacity hall near my house.I was gutted to miss it but was away that week. Westlife,Enya and to a lesser extent U2 would be way better known over there.
Some people are very gullible, caught up in the hype and believe any auld sh1te online without critically thinking about it.
167 + fees - standing.
197 + fees for seated.
was posted on here yesterday (leaked?)
Hype, give me Noels HFBs anyday.Liams voice is gone!
Am glad someone else said this …. couldn't believe what I was reading
Nothing is certain until you have the data. Without that it's guessing and gut feel.
Ticket prices being released today yeah?
9am tomorrow.
Can you imagine how many tickets will be wasted on all the metalheads and hardcore punks as the clamour to hear Oasis' heavy sound and thereby denying true fans of What's the Story?
That extra Edinburgh date doesn't bode well for the hotel bookings I have for the Thursday and Friday night 😬
It was on that leaked sheet tbf. The extra Wembley and Heaton Park dates. There is hope for an INEC gig yet 😂
It was obvious before these were even announced that they could do way more dates and will never meet demand
I'm amazed they announced that before letting the others sell out. The pre-sale registration demand must be off the charts.
New dates added before tickets even went on sale
more uk dates added
https://x.com/oasis/status/1829051399482540220?s=46&t=B572YcHIJ_4FBUfBDqbeUQ
I’d imagine the extra Croke park shows will be midweek before or after the original dates with a two day gap inbetween
? Huh? Slipknot? Tool? Metallica? Pantera? Etc etc etc
"Oasis, is their heavy stuff, is the heaviest out there for a rock band. Dig Out Your Soul was one of the heaviest pounding albums ever recorded" ………
😣 🤔
What ?
Have you heard any other music ?
(i told myself to not comment on the music gurus posts …… i failed 😣 )
Coldplay never hit the heights of Parachutes again for me but that's another day's work! I went to a show last year and it was very good, they know how to entertain.
I would be very surprised if Oasis didn't go for the MCG and somewhere in Sydney at the very least, and I hope that's the case because it'll make it slightly easier to get any tickets for Perth dates. A sold out MCG would be iconic and they should be able to do it. But as you say, it depends on their reasons for coming back and what they want to do. Flying in and out of Australia is possible directly from the UK to Perth now, making it the "easy" option if they just want the money.
Am I right to say we wont know if we got a code until 12pm Friday? Id applied but have gotten no email yet. What happens after 12pm Friday, is it is a race to buy a ticket at that time or when does it actually open?
I get your point, but I don't think every band are as easily swayed the way Coldplay would be, regardless of money. Coldplay literally will do anything for money. If Damon Albarn said Blur or Gorillaz aren't playing Australia, it's simply not happening regardless of the money thrown at him.
As for Oasis, it's hard to know the reason for their reunion in the first place, if it's for money or just because they want to. If it's the latter, this is purely for the UK and Irish market, for a younger demograph who never seen them. If it's the former, ye they'll probably then go anywhere if the money is right.
And I do like Coldplay up to Viva la Vida, when they were what I'd call a real band
Their official website says the following (so they'll definitely be doing a world tour):
"Plans are underway forÂ
OASIS LIVE ’25
to go to other continents outside of Europe later next year."
Cool, you don't like Coldplay. The WA Government also paid for AC Milan and AS Roma to play a game here in May as an exclusive, it's well within their budget and plans to bring big names over as exclusives. So, my point is Perth only shows isn't necessarily fake news.
Ye a real band who doesn't sell out, can't be put in the same bracket as Coldplay, who will literally do anything for commercial success. They're a parody of what they once were. Who the fcuk cares what they do or dont do, except 15 year old American girls these days. They've lost all credibility a long time ago
Not necessarily, Coldplay played two nights in Perth last year because the WA Government threw millions at them for an Australian exclusive as a tourism push. And it worked, thousands travelled. It was a nightmare to get tickets though so I hope they play other cities as well. There’s enough Irish and Brits here to fill Optus Stadium multiple times as it is.
….
A funny thing people don't actually realise about Oasis, is their heavy stuff, is the heaviest out there for a rock band. Dig Out Your Soul was one of the heaviest pounding albums ever recorded. But it's real and raw, without the distortion the Kinks are often credited with creating, expanded by Black Sabbath, and used by all the heavy rock and metal bands.
From a pure guitar playing point of view, without going down that road of distortion, Oasis are actually heavier than anyone. The Shock of the Lightning, is one of the heaviest thumping songs, from a "pure" guitar playing point of view, without the distortion. When Oasis go heavy, thats why it feels so raw, and has often seperated them from their peers.
Many people don't understand why they went so big. They rocked onto the scene with a statement of intent, a sound, a balls to the wall rock and roll energy that was pounding, not really seen before or since. The force of it blew everything else away, no one has ever really gone that "big" with their sound.
No band has every gone as big in scope or as heavy as Oasis. When Oasis go big in sound, their songs are absolute thumpers. Their cover of I Am The Walrus is absolutely huge. The Shock of the Lighting is off the charts in raw energy, an absolute pounder. It's as heavy as it gets!
Alan is a great drummer, who always serves the song. Not some BS 20 minute solo nonsense type.
I hope he's back on the stool for the reunion, but the below seems most likely to me.
Liam - vocals and tamborine :)
Noel - guitar and vocals
Bonehead - guitar
Gem - guitar and possibly bass
Russ Pritchard - bass
Mikey Rowe - keyboards
Chris Sharrock - drums
I would love to see Guigsy and Whitey back to complete the 1996 line up - unlikely though!
I was more thinking about Croke Park maybe having other gigs next year and the quota.
