Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
It's a varied discography at that! Veers through acoustic finger-picking, drone, full on guitar wigouts and psych-folk. The latest album was done with Shackleton, so another change of direction! Haven't heard it yet but reviews seem to be positive.
Should also be noted that Six Organs main man Ben Chasny was also one of the guitarists in Comets On Fire 😎
Hadn't heard of them, so just had a quick google... 38 albums in the last 26yrs??! 😳🤣
Six Organs of Admittance, Bello Bar, Wednesday 26th March: https://www.foggynotions.ie/concerts/concert/six-organs-of-admittance-dublin-march-2025
Looking forward to this one. Must be 20 years since they last played here.
Covid cost us Sunstroke and then a Gojira/Deftones double bill, would have been fantastic events
Had a ticket for Sunstroke. Was so disappointed.
Ward Pk isn't normally used for gigs so it would have to be someone big enough to warrant the Council applying for the licence. Maybe it's some sort of festival if they're using both Ward Pk and the playing fields.
First thought was Bruce, but not with MCD running it.
Any ideas who this will be? Surely not Snow Patrol if they're doing gigs in Feb 25?
Thank christ it's not opium again.
Biffy wouldn't sell out either , could see them doing the likes of Fairview, Slipknot with a decent support could maybe do St Annes or Malahide(may not sell out but would pull a decent crowd)
I was so excited when they announced Sunstroke was coming back in 2020 but Covid ruined it and we never seen anything like it. Always had the idea if had money and contacts :) that something like Kilmainham would be a great venue to test the waters with a rock/metal fest, start off with 2 or 3 stages and build up etc
I'd love for 2 day metal festival in Ireland with the likes of Slipknot headlining but not getting my hopes up.
Although Rammstein sold a boat load of tickets this past summer so maybe promoters might see there is a market for some heavier gigs?
Interesting, I'd seen (obviously incorrect) speculation that it would be Linkin Park. They have an announcement coming at 7pm, rumours are that it's a new start with a new singer
Might get a Biffy Clyro show at Marlay or Malahide
Would Slipknot sell an outdoor show here?
Not Irish related but Rock Am Ring/Rock Im Park announced acts for next year, Sleep Token and MBTH are European festival exclusives
Relatively easy, yes. They played Slane in 2009 as their last gig here. Tickets were available for several days after going on sale. Before that, in 2005 they played Marlay Park in the summer, and then 2 nights at the Point in December. No issues getting tickets for those from what I remember. Most people weren't arsed with the newer stuff then, and they were utterly awful live most of the time throughout the 00s. Phoned-in, couldn't be arsed attitude, mixed with a setlist full of new material from whatever the latest album they had out. Also didn't help that they played basically the same setlist every night. The setlist for the two Point gigs was almost identical to the one from a few months previous in Marlay Park.
They were here for a few nights in the Point in 2003, and played Witnness 2002 too.
Out of curiosity when Oasis were still around in the late 2000s was it easy to get tickets when they played here?
The Menzingers for Dublin and Belfast in April.
Saturday morning 8am, internet will probably be broken with demand for Oasis
August, 2 nights Croke Park 2025
(And yes I know there is a thread)
Deryck confirmed he is not involved with the LP announcement and moved his announcement to Friday(although he basically said it was something to do with a book/book tour). Rock Am Ring also have an announcement tomorrow so will probably involve the LP project headlining next year
Missed Sum 41 when they were here(was living in Toronto) and knew I was moving home before they were playing the final dates in Toronto (Jan 25) so looking at hitting up one of the European dates. One of the bands that got me into Pop Punk and never caught them live, had tickets for the Kerrang Tour where they were due to play but had to cancel due to Deryck's back issues.
Mike from LP mentioned that they were looking for a female singer. There were rumours that Amy from evanescence could be a new singer, but she denied the rumours straight away
Ha ha i wanted to go to madcool just for the sums. Was listening to a lot of their stuff lately and following them. When they announced a Dublin date I nearly punched a wall, cos i had holidays booked at that time. Madcool was too pricey just for sum41 at the time. So went to Slam Dunk France in Lyon. Friday morning back from holidays, pink in the evening and Saturday early morning off to Lyon to sum41. Me and my teenage daughter had a great time.
Linkin Park was my favorite band. LP + Deryck would be unreal. But there are rumors that Deryck has some health issues, back pain and stuff
Oohhh that would be great
Saw Sum 41 at Madcool and he was one fire
Out of interest who else 'established' could be considered ? Chester was in a league of his own
Linkin park started a countdown clock couple of days ago, ends on Wednesday. Some rumors about reunion with a new lead singer. Couple of festivals used the countdown in their stories.
Rock am ring has an announcement on Wednesday as well.
Also, coincidentally, Deryck from sum41 has an announcement on Wednesday too. (LP did offer him a lead role years ago after the Chester tribute gig)
I think Oasis at Slane is going to happen.
When I search for Croke Park on X I get the Oasis post. When i search Slane I get the same thing.
Could we see both. 3 Nights in Croker and a night or two in Slane ?
The Coldplay fan base is not bigger and holidays haven’t been booked yet. Oasis have a big young following in large part due to Liams solo career
There's a thread dedicated to the rumoured Oasis gig here
I was wondering that but I think a lot would depend on the date. If its same as Coldplay then everyone is back from holidays, but if it was mid August I think you'd have a lot of the target audience (older first time around fans etc) possibly away on holidays. I'm also think in the 18-30 demographic the Coldplay fan base (even the FOMO group) is larger.
I was thinking general sale next week, gives an everyone a chance to get everything in order.
Would much prefer this week though, otherwise it’ll be a very long week and a half
