Well never thought id see the day..i know its that rag reporting it but their generally right on these kinda things. I guess thats our multiple nights in Croke Park band sorted for next Summer then✌
Nobody would want to hear their new material, even if they had any.
How do you know this?
I’d like to hear new material, feel the same way about GNR (a proper album that is). No doubt a relatively small amount of people but there is lots who have listened to all their albums and solo albums who would like to hear a new Oasis album
Everybody told me.
People are going for the nostalgia. Not for any of their non existent newer output.
I wouldn't go as far to say nobody but it's not far off to be fair.
If they trotted out 4 or 5 new songs at the expense of some of their bigger hits, its fair to say that the majority of people would be disappointed that some of the older stuff got canned.
I thought Dig Out your Soul was good to be honest. I’d give a new album a listen for sure but I have no interest in seeing them live.
No interest in seeing the songs off new songs live or no interest in Oasis live in general? Depends on the new songs I guess. I’d love them to play I’m Outta Time and Waiting For The Rapture. But obviously most people have no interest. It is what it is, every band gets like that after a while.
Same. Or plenty of older songs that they rarely/never played when they were still together; eg. Full On, Underneath the Sky, Shout It Out Loud, Falling Down, Hey Now, Part of the Queue, I Hope I Think I Know, Lets All Make Believe…. They played all the hits regularly right up until they broke up in 2009, and I saw them 10+ times during that period, so I have no real desire to hear Supersonic or Wonderwall or Stand By Me live for the 6th time……
Getting serious Michael Jackson "This Is It" vibes from this project. Gonna hold off til next year and see what happens.
I'm done with these silly ticket scrums. Only bought my ACDC ticket two days before the gig.
You're welcome.
I'm not busy all the time and it's ironic you very clearly obviously aren't. Fair play to your good self also, over 50,000 posts you must have an unbelievable amount of free time I'm jealous. I really wish I had all that free time with nothing to ever do with my days except post snide remarks to people online.
It's well for some as they say 🙂
I have no interest in Oasis live in general. I’ve seen Liam and Noel separately in the last few years and that’s good enough for me. Close your eyes and an Oasis gig sounds the same as Liam solo. I was born in ‘91 so I was too young to be caught up in the hype in the 90s.
I wonder why people laugh at The Guardian.
Is there anything else that isn't true that you'd like to tell us about?
hmmmm
Who are these people of which you speak? The people who've never read it?
It's nothing to shout about. Premium seat holders for the GAA get the option of buying their two seats for concerts at about 50-75% cost more than regular tickets.
The only plus point is the great access to a bar. Atmosphere is much worse as there are only a few rows there (and they never seem to be full, regardless of sellout status) and the sound doesn't seem to be as good in that section either. Pitch or lower tier tickets are better if you're fully into the gig. For crap like Garth Brooks the bar was handy alright
Too right I got ACDC standing ticket day before for €50, day before the Oasis gig there will be umpteen resell tickets on ticketmaster for circa 50 quid mark my words. Not everyone will be able to go, 160,000 people guranteed a few will be stuck with tickets and let them go very cheap day of or day before the event.
The whole Panic buying of these tickets is being orchestrated to whip up a frenzy and ticketmaster and their paid for advertisments oops 'features' in the papers will have gombeens paying €300 and €400 each for tickets, all ticketmaster have to do is their usual scam wording 'platinum tickets' 'gold circle tickets' or 'premium tickets'
Method to their madness. During Saturdays scrum for tickets people will pay insane money for seated crap tickets.
The hair on the guy who wrote that says it all
A couple of tracks that wouldn't make most Oasis fans best of but, I respect those choices!
Still no conformation email from the 8pm Reg last night. Sent the link to a friend at the same time he got the confirmation link 2 hours ago. 😬 7pm is getting closer
Id be happy to bring her if you want to give it a miss
Same more or less, heard Liam and Noel do Wonderwall and DLBLA solo, no real interest in hearing a karaoke session for the audience tbh. Like you say there’s plenty of not well known songs for them to choose from and hopefully next year they get the balance of songs right
Anyone know who the first drummer in Oasis was?
John Stumpy Peeps. Followed by Eric 'stumpy Joe' Childs.
This won't be like AC/DC, there'll be next to no tickets floating about beforehand I suspect. The hype is on a par with Taylor Swift. Even Coldplay this week, there are very few tickets going a begging atm and they are playing four nights in Croker.
Alan White. Definitely Alan White.
Saturday
People will Queue Forever
I for one am getting sick looking the 2 of them already
..
Their media people do some job marketing the band to be fair, I remember the big hype and anticipation when the Be Here Now album was coming out!
