Do you remember any ?
That was released under an artist name of "Music From The Fourth Place", but it is him.
i remember this one, first heard it in 2003 all though it is from 2001/2002 originally.
it was an if you know you know tune as far as here was concerned, it was a hit in europe mostly.
i think it did get a uk release but wasn't a success there.
in-grid had a few other tracks as well.
I think in English its title translates to "you are f***ed up".
there is an english version of it called you promised me.
Another song not available to listen to online.
Maniac 2000 isn't officially but is available to listen on YouTube.
Dara - Eye of the Clock in 2000. I loved this album and still listen to it a few times a year.
I remember this getting a fair bit of airplay around the 2002 World Cup
Hardly forgotten!
Hear that one every Christmas, it's on the Love Actually soundtrack.
Don't think this one was released here but it might have been played on the pirate stations.
It was Maniac 2000-huge in Germany that year, spending eight or nine weeks at #1!
Fairly ubiquitous around summer 2008, this lad vanished very quickly.
I remember it well. This was the follow-up...
I actually heard this on Q Radio (not Q102) the other week!
Anybody remember a girl named Jo-Jo? She looked barely 14 and had a hit song which went "Get out... right now.... it's the end of you and me..." I think that was her only song.
Another one is from a band named Hepburn who had a song called "I Quit ".
I used to hear these songs all the time at work back then but now they are well in the one-hit-wonder category.
Absolutely rinsed by 2fm during Summer 2003…
Another staple of 2fm circa 2009 (?) - also used in an ad for a bank (AIB?)…
Yep, she was 13 if I recall.
This one was definitely used by AIB in an ad:
i remember them both. jo-jo was actually 13/14 when she released leave get out. Hepburn i quit was from 1999 if i remember correctly, was on high enough rotation on atlantic 252 at the time.
Another from summer 2009, not sure if it counts but haven't heard it in a long time
My last choice might be a bit contentious, this one from the same year definitely isn't.
"Sparkle" by Rubyhorse
From Cork and this one was used in an advert as well.
it might be a good idea to include a title and artist on the song videos being posted, would save having to click into the song to get this info.
Sandi Thom - I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker
The Cheeky Girls.
Cork rapper GMC released this humorous track in the mid-00s.
"Allthethingsshesaidallthethingsshesaidallthethingsshesaidrunningthroughmyheadrunningthroughmyhead......"
Black Box Recorder - The Facts Of Life. Spring 2000.
Released just before Christmas 2009. Should have been massive.
Mini Viva - I Wish
Melancholy Swedish synth pop from 2009. Reminds me of 126 bus early mornings.
The Sound Of Arrows - Into The Clouds
The most 'emo' looking band you've ever seen…great song though. 😊
