Well never thought id see the day..i know its that rag reporting it but their generally right on these kinda things. I guess thats our multiple nights in Croke Park band sorted for next Summer then✌
I say its the opposite, the real fans are not mental enough to pay 250+. Only the hipsters are
will we have to listen to the crap about tickets and hotel prices for the next fokking year.
RTE going large over this!
if they add more dates there will defo be a gap, No way liam will do 4 dates in a row
The High Flying birds are made up of a number of former Oasis members, Chris Sharrock, Gem Archer etc. Going back to the OG line up was never going to happen.
HFB plus Liam and Bonehead for a few tunes you'd imagine.
I think lots of people have great memories of buying be here now, it was probably the most over hyped album ever released up to that time anyway. It was never going to live up to it, but it does have a few great tunes on it. Definitely 3 or 4 that might feature on this tour. Plenty of later album songs that will need to fit as well. The importance of being idle, shock of the lighting, stop crying your heart out, fuckin in the bushes, little by little, Lyla, the Hindu times, go let it out etc, then the b side stuff, masterplan, whatever, half the world away. Huge back catalogue that does extend past the first two albums.
Tickets starting at €86.50 according to someone on RTE radio, very surprised, happily, at that..
There is a guy called Stuart clarke he writes for Hot Press - he knows a lot of industry inside knowledge - he said on radio this morning that Noel plans to use the existing high flying birds band
If they do go ahead and force it to be the high flying birds + Liam, Bonehead and the other original members should take a super injunction to stop the entire thing in its tracks.
How can they honestly sell it as “Oasis” If it doesn’t include the original members ???
Stuart Clarke is an utter spoofer that just repeats rumours every time he's interviewed.
It may very well be the HFBs band, given that the final Oasis lineup had Gem and Chris Sharock who are now in HFBs and Andy Bell is off doing Ride, but Stuart Clarke has no clue what it will be.
NME and I think the Guardian were speculating yesterday that that's what it would be. That's were he's pulled this "info" from.
Noel & Liam Gallagher's High Flying Birds
For the same way only Liam and Noel were left by ~2005
In fairness, it's a tired trope that's thrown about that Oasis made no good music after Whats the Story. Whilst no album has been as good as the first two, they've had plenty of good songs, and Don't Believe the Truth in particular is an excellent album.
Very harsh. Stu has been in music journalism for decades and knows/has interviewed all of Oasis many times. He is a complete expert and font of knowledge and his regular weekly slot on Pat Kenny is way ahead of the curve in terms of introducing/flagging new bands or songs. Tell me, what sets you out as exceptional to call Stuart Clarke an “utter spoofer”???
Same way they toured all throughout the 00s with non-original members.
Gem and Andy were in Oasis longer than Guigsy and Bonehead.
And pretty much no-one wants original member Tony McCarroll back behind the drums.
You really don't like them do you? An injuction to stop the gigs, think you need a bit of a lie down..
Ah shure they have to have someone to replace Taylor and Coldplay in the news cycle…
Best of luck getting one for that price. Same as Bruce, a few restricted view seats will be that price.
I've just told you, he repeats rumours that often appear here, reddit and all over the Internet days if not weeks before hand, that never come to pass.
When he was on Radio1 yesterday he was just repeating stuff that was all over the Internet already over the weekend. Zero original insight.
Disagree that he's ahead of any curve for flagging new music either. Pretty kuch every band or gig he mentions on the Pat Kenny show is well known by anyone with any interest in music. I can see how to a mainstream middle-class Pat Kenny audience he might seem "clued-inc though. To me he's someone who is long out of touch.
Hot Press being a stop on an Oasis PR tour when they're in Ireland is pretty irrelevant. So is Today FM and the Late Late Show.
I loved the original version of Oasis. I would love to see the original line up back together.
Not so much impressed with Noel G High Flying Birds + Liam.
that’s not and never will be Oasis.
Andy Bell and Gem Archer actually wrote Oasis songs on Oasis albums. Guigs/Bonehead didn't as far as I remember, maybe have a small credit or two.
'To be where there's life' off of Dig out your soul is a right groover
You mean they have to big up the event to ensure they get the freebies ,don't you?
I’d love to hear a head to head between you and Stuart clarke on the radio - he’d make mincemeat of you - are you aware he’s close friends with BOTH gallagher brothers and has got many exclusives from them - he was talking about this earlier on - you probably are not aware…
Basically this.
I hadn't actually heard anything about him for the last year until i saw his name mentioned here. He's a spoofer and no more clue'd in than me or you
Are you Stuart's agent or something😂
You have no idea what a super injunction is do you? 😂
More likely to be the following weekend I'd imagine
Well the songs are already written so what will he add by being there in 2025?
Stu clarke literally said this morning on Pat Kenny that on a number of occasions both Liam and Noel told him exclusives that their PR team did not want them to say.
He is far from a spoofer, he is an old school rock journo who sources out new bands and scenes.
indoor gigs are far better than outdoor gigs for sound reasons and the fact it could be lashing rain in Ireland, another reason I wouldn't go.
They'd be missing a trick to not open with F-ing in the bushes as the walk-out intro and start immediately with Hello (It's Good to be Back)
