I wonder how this will work out for him

According to that Irish Times article, he was sacked in Jan 2023. He has lodged an appeal. Why has no date been set for it, even if he’s in prison?
It was.
But he keeps frustrating the process.
EB has proven himself unlikely to accept good advice.
However the court, with few options available, was right to make it possible.
The prison has no option but to deal as best it can with what the courts send.
I can’t understand why the courts would allow him to frustrate the appeal process like that.
I see he wears brogues with buckles - are laces the Devil's work? Or maybe he is able to cinch them tighter to inflict some self flagellation
Unless he has some sort of court injunction against the appeal process they can rule without him giving oral arguments.
They can actually dismiss it if they believe his appeal is without merit or he is acting the bollíx to frustrate it.
They are definitely using the legal process to their full advantage - even stretching it.
They know the Courts won't / can't put a step wrong with due process or they'd be all over it screaming about their rights.
Its two different court systems he's attending at, neither of which are dealing with directly related matters. The High and Appeal law courts are dealing with his behaviour attending at the school after the High Court granted the school an injunction barring him from attending at the school.
Separately the Disciplinary Appeal Panel [ta Ezeoul] is dealing simply with the appeal he launched against his sacking. That is what I think was originally part of the Labour Court designed to sort out industrial disputes. I've no doubt at all he's getting the best of advice on how to play one off against the other to his, and his family's, scheming advantage.
thanks. So what is delaying the appeal taking place?
The last I read about that was that one member of the hearing panel had a family member working with links to a law firm that one of Enoch's kin had a falling-out with. Enoch alleged in an objection that said member of the appeal board would have a bias against him and he objected to the person being on the board. That, my memory has it, is the reason for the delay in the dismissal hearing case. Being human, my recollection might be faulty and research of the hearings as reported in the media may reveal a better read.
Edit: I've looked back and edited part of the above to give a better read.
The original objection to the DAP was the inclusion of Mr Kieran Christie, of ASTI, as a member as EB claimed he was "promoter of transgenderism", though i have no doubt they will look for any tiny reason to object.
Basically, no matter who the school nominate for the DAP, the Burkes will dig until they find some spurious reason to object.
In other words, if a member - or one of their family members - once said hello to a trans person in the pub, then they must be "pro-transgenderism" and will be "biased" against Enoch.
Even though yet again, his case has nothing to do with transgender people. But the Courts still have to listen to his bull.
They are called monk strap shoes, could be a religious overtone, or, he could just be wearing a popular style of shoe.
Slip-ons only in the nick, Velcro at a push.
You wouldn’t want to bending over tying shoe laces where Enoch is going.
New costs against him today. Can’t post Indo link.
Costs awards make no difference anymore. It’s like owing a bank money, the more you owe, the less likely you are to pay if it all goes wrong.
He looks very casual (by his standards) in that pic, no tie and what looks like jeans.
Here's a link from Extra.ie
Oh God, I'd like to bounce that idea against Burke in court and ask him did he ever address or start a conversation with a transgender student at WHS without the student approaching him or asking him a question before his objections to transgenderism became public to the extent that he ended up losing his job because of his style of debating the issue at W.H.S. Are you a hypocrite, Mr Burke?
Not a chance of him paying anything imo.
I sometimes wonder when Enoch is alone with his thoughts does he wish he didn't live this life, that he wasn't born into that religion obsessed family and that he could just live a regular, boring life as a teacher with a partner and family?
The worst take I’ve seen on Enoch in a while:
A modern day Dan Breen… Focking hell.
To be fair, while Dan Breen attracted a lot of notice, he failed to capitalise on his celebrity, acheived very little in over four decades in politics and was a pretty marginal figure. So he may have a good deal in common with Enoch.
But there's one important difference. Breen secured his release from prison in 1923 by signing an undertaking to refrain from further armed action against the Free State and, having given that undertaking, he stuck with it. Burke hasn't even the wit to do that.
Burke doesn’t have to give the undertaking as he is being released without it.
Contempt of Court applies differently to Enoch and that’s a problem the Courts system created for itself.
This just illustrates that the rules in this country only apply to those who follow them.
Well, except Burke is at risk of being returned to prison. It's largely up to Wilson's Hospital whether he is or not.
I'm not sure what you mean by "contempt of court applies differently to Enoch". It applies to him in exactly the same way as it does to everyone else. The difference is that, for most people, the impact of the contempt rules is sufficient to secure compliance with court orders; for Enoch, it isn't. Or, at any rate, it hasn't been yet.
One thing about this clown is how well the school and parents are handling the situation and giving him no oxygen for the media to latch on too, he is standing there and has received no abuse from parents, how many people would put up with this outside their school gates every day, just shows what a sad act he is and the father no better, just to stand there during school hours and drive back and forward to mayo each day and the reality of not working in that school or any other school in Ireland. The clowns future looks so bleak and the sad part he can’t see beyond Mammies madness,
There would be some craic if he actually won his case against the school. But he couldn't, could he???
No. He verbally assaulted the head teacher at an event. That alone should have been grounds for termination. The student at the centre of this whole thing wasn't even in a class Burke taught.
This whole thing is entirely of his own making. The board has already found against him, it is now just his appeal that is holding things up. Him refusing to obey a court direction led to him being imprisoned. Turning up to the school again, is once again his own making and could well result him being sent back into prison.
Hypothetically, if he won since the relationship between Burke and the school had broken down so badly the WRC or whoever couldn’t recommend reinstatement to his teaching position. They would order the payment of compensation instead. Again hypothetically. He hasn’t a snowball’s chance in Hell. He’s just stringing all this out for publicity. Once the General Election is called in a few weeks the Burkes be out harassing and abusing politicians and Wilson’s will have some peace.
If by some miracle that did happen, the amount of compensation should be a small percentage of the school's legal fees, minus the cost of his salary paid from the time he obstructed the DAP from taking place in July 2023.
Actually he could. The WRC will make a decision solely based on procedure. If they find against him it will they go to the High Court.

‘Once incorrectly labeled a parasite, the Enoch has recently been recategorised as human of the ignorant variety which survives on a diet of bothersome behaviour.’
