Any of you experience a click noise from the rear wheel area just as the car comes to a stop and also when you pull away?
I can only hear it if I've a window down but quite noticeable and wasnt there from the start.
I see a few people mention it on forums too. Anyone else notice it on theirs?
Has anyone availed of a "green loan" when buying out their car at the end of a 3 year PCP?
AIB have the best rate but they're saying that it doesn't qualify as a purchase because I already own it (under finance).
Once you have a decent range EV in your driveway, it’ll quickly become the main car in my experience. If you can charge at home on night rate electricity, a full battery every morning for way less than the cost of diesel becomes too tempting.
What rate does your local credit union offer?
In terms of power I believe the eco drive mode is 150hp. I set my Born individual drive mode to eco power to dampen the response of the accelerator when driving with the missus and the baby. 0-60 is still something reasonable like 9 seconds but beyond performance, the way EVs drive make them feel light and nimble from a stop or when driving in traffic or urban areas.
I have more of a clunk sound than a "click" in my ID.4. I hear it with the windows closed just as i take off and again stop in traffic. Definitely wasn't there before.
Could some creative accounting be done if you're planning some other work? For example the loan could be for insulation upgrades or something?
What rate do VW offer?
Almost 9%, ridiculous.
Looks like An Post might be the solution.
GMFV on the car is €18.8k. AIB green loan was 6.4% for €19k. 8.9% for regular personal loan.
An Post is 8.7% for the same amount on a regular (not green) loan. But increase the figure to €20k and the rate drops to 6.8%. And there's no limits on early payback so I can just borrow the €20k, get the lower rate, then just repay the €1k early.
Still may be tricky though. Living in Donegal but working (and primarily banking) in Derry has its drawbacks.
Haven't checked, but I'll call them Monday.
Both Donegal Town CU and Derry CU have car loans at 6.7%.
I'd ring your dealer in the morning though and ask for a quote to finance the GMFV on your car at the PCP term end.
I'm with Newtowncunningham/Lifford/Raphoe CU. Might call them tomorrow too and clarify if they can do better than the website says.
Just looking at their website and their rates aren't great.
Do you know if they paid a dividend or loan interest rebate last year? I can't see their annual accounts on their website.
I only ask because they mention a 17.5% loan interest rebate from a previous year so if they did similar again this year obviously that will significantly reduce your interest rate.
Decided to keep mine too. My wife wants it so looking at trading in her car for another EV.
Covered Loans in the CU are 6% Green Loans are at 6.5%
Just off the phone to the local CU. They don't do a green loan and their best price is 7.9%.
The rates I gave are from the Cairde Credit Union, Dungarvan. standard rate is 9.9%
The sign over their door must be massive!
Same here - it would cost you another 20k to buy a new id3 with less spec and smaller battery - no chance. We will be keeping ours for the long haul. Retired out the i3 there with over 200,000km and got a Boi green loan at 6%~ just needed proof I was buying another ev
Only one issue with the charge door last week - vw had me moving in ten mins, opened the door, ordered the new parts and off I went - great car over the years bar this minor issue.
Just curious, what kind of condition was the I3 in when you retired it? Was it still driveable?
I got a green loan to do that last year. From the AIB.
I just uploaded a picture of the VW bank settlement amount letter and they accepted it.
I might give them a call again today. Seems like someone just had a "computer says no" moment.
VW offering 7.9%. And you can't repay early without penalties.
Looks like An Post probably win this one. Just double checking with AIB first.
It was absolutely mint, battery still giving the same range as the day I bought it. I seen it for sale on DD a couple of weeks ago for 9k but I don't think it sold, laurel grey on 20"s, genuinely straight car, never gave any trouble. Just needed more room and range with the kids getting bigger.
Done and dusted. Called AIB again and they insisted that it can't be done. I suspect those of you who succeeded applied online and the system just failed to recognise the situation. I can't apply online due to working in NI.
An Post now approved and funds should arrive today so not to worry.
I done it all through the phone app, never spoke to anyone.
Yup, as in my previous post. I just don't think the automated process is able to differentiate it but I couldn't use the app.
My experience with tyres on my almost 4 year old ID3. Came originally with 18 inch bridgestone turanza. Did 22k on rear. Replaced them with continental econtact6. Have now 31k mileage done with plenty of thread left. Anysimilar experience?
much the same, the Goodyear efficient grips which replaced the original Bridgestones are wearing better.
I'm on 21 inch Pirelli Scorpions on my ID.4, 3 years and around 31,000km later they still have between 3.5mm and 4mm of tread so they seem to be doing well
I'm thinking I might go for Continental AllSeason Contact tyres next time since the car does get a bit drifty on frosty roads
