Welcome to the Waterford GAA discussion thread.

This is consistently the most active thread on the GAA forum. As a result, discussion can get quite heated. But there are certain things posters must realise are simply not OK to post:

- Personal abuse of anyone be they other posters, players, managers, referees, pundits etc. Any personal abuse will result in an infraction or a ban.

- Rumours about players'/managers'/anyone's personal lives. This should be self explanatory. Apart from being a dickish thing to do, it can lead to legal trouble for Boards.

- Trolling. Again, self explanatory. Trolls will be banned for a long time.

- Accusations of trolling. Report a post if you suspect it to be trolling. Do not call a troll out on thread as this will be considered back seat modding.

- Speculation into the identity of another poster. This is a site-bannable offence.

This list is not exhaustive. The GAA mods may add to this as we see fit. Just because a certain behaviour isn't listed, doesn't mean you can't be banned for it. The general Boards.ie rule of Don't be a Dick always applies.

If you feel a post breaks the rules, simply click this underneath the post in question to report the post and a mod will deal with it as they see fit.

It could be the reset the club needs also. It must have been hard the past few years, knowing they wouldn’t be competing and more or less focusing on survival from the outset.

Under 14 lost the Tony Forristal semi final to Kilkenny who won it and won the sonny walsh. Under 15 didn't go as well but good news with the under 16. Hopefully we can become competitive again at minor in the next couple of years.

Brickeys are a coming team. Even if they don’t beat Clashmore it’s only a matter of time before they are senior. Couple of really stand out forwards that might even be in Peter Queally plans next year

A really good second half from Abbeyside, they were the better team on the day with the goals proving crucial.

The second game was an absolute woeful game. It was a bad watch. Ballygunner doing enough while Passage kept shooting themselves in the foot. Roanmore must have been kicking themselves looking at it.

If abbeyside keep their composure and don't let the final get to them, they should really make a good game of it.

It will help them bring in Dungarvan also.

Hard to know where ballygunner are at, they definitely don't look to be at full throttle, one would suspect them to come all guns blazing in the final. It's most likely a case for them if just getting to the final.

Was just curious, I thought with the money put into Walsh Park and it being Waterford’s main ground that county finals would be held there, I see now that it rotates with Fraher (where practical) which is fair enough.

I don’t know how long a tradition it is, but the football and hurling finals alternate between Walsh Park and Fraher each year but this only comes into place if there is a west team facing an east team so if Mount Sion had won today, the final would have been Walsh Park as they’re 2 east teams. The football final will be in Walsh Park if an east team makes the final but if it’s 2 west teams, it will be in Fraher. For example, Rathgormack played the Nire in the final last year in Fraher, but the year before in Walsh Park. I think it’s the same in all adult grades and underage where applicable as well, but the east and west venues wouldn’t necessarily be Walsh Park and Fraher as far as I know.

Walsh park has a full terrace from where the scoreboard is not visible. Thats been painfully clear since the first round of the championship in April. Still no change noe

That's an odd one. Do they live in Glenmore or is easier to transfer outside the county than to a club inside? I suppose if they are not being allowed play in Waterford and are good players they don't want to miss out on hurling for the year.
