Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
I have more than enough gigs to contend with for Sept. - Dec. and genuinely don't want to see any more added to the list.
I think most of the Autumn stuff has already been announced and we'll soon get the usual plethora of pre-Xmas gigs with local artists. Other than that I don't see many international acts announcing 2024 sets.
Sounds good, sadly I haven't lived in Galway for years, so only really aware of the headline stuff such as the Arts Festival, and the new kid in town, Galway Airport 🙂 But I will have to keeep an eye out on the smaller venues, as I still have family in Galway, so I would be down once every two months at least, or more often if I spot any good gigs worth going to.
Dizzee Rascal doing Olympia 22nd Oct
Mary Wallopers teasing a irish tour announcement, guessing it will be announced after EP
Meryl Streek in Dublin and Belfast end of November: https://singularartists.ie/show/meryl-streek/
Trying to remember who he was supporting last time I saw him. Interesting act and he has a great ear for a tune but there’s only so much negativity you can cope with on a night out, the constant ‘the world is crap’ he continually spouts just had me laughing in the end.
Saw him supporting Enter Shikari back in March. Didn't know anything about him and he is not my cup of tea, constant swearing and occasionally difficult to understand what he says (I'm not Irish though so don't mind me on that last comment).
Bad Manners are back! Saw them last year great live band.
Bob Vylan in Whelans?
Guessing Olympia or Vicar Street, Cork, Galway and maybe Wexford
Would love to see them play in Waterford
Off topic but surprised there's been no mention of Eoin French of Talos passing away on any thread here.
An extremely talented fella, saw him at EP, Body and Soul and ATN down thru the years. Beautiful music and from a lot of comments online, seemed like a lovely bloke.
37 years old is far too young. Rest in peace Eoin.
It was mentioned on the Music RIP thread if you go to latest posts. Tragic.
Saw it mentioned it on EP thread. Was going to raise it here but wasn't sure if it was right thread to. A huge loss to the Irish music community and of course his family and friends. Was lucky enough to see him live at least 5 or 6 times and they were always incredible gigs. The reaction from other artists from here and abroad shows how admired and respected he was. Seemed like a lovely and humble guy too.
Saw him a number of times. Gig in Pepper Cannister really stands out but all were brilliant.
Mentioned by 7/8 posters on the Electric Picnic thread. He played several gigs there, and I remember him doing both the Other Voices stage and one of the tents circa 2017/18. It’s desperately sad stuff, an extremely talented musician and an unbearably young departure. RIP Eoin.
Free, next Thurs, if you're quick...

Gone! 😞
If anybody here is going, check out the guitarist in Celaviedmai. Saw them last week in We’ve Only Just Begun and he is beyond awesome!
Don't expect that Fugees gig to stay going ahead for long

Falling in Reverse/Asking Alexandria/Our Last Night/Tech N9ne - 3Arena Dec 12th
Meryl Streek Kicks off Irish Tour at Whelans this November 29
"The Songs for The Deceased Tour will conclude with a show in Belfast on November 30 at Ulster Sports Bar."
Kneecap added final date in vicar St on Oct 28th
Had to do a double take on that when I saw 3Arena. I thought it was Tek 9 and jungle was making a massive resurgence ;)
Not bad
Are they the new age 'goth' bands ?
Saw the tail end of his set at 2000 Trees in the UK, and thought he was great.
But he does really need to flesh out his material more than essentially "f*ck landlords.. f*ck housing crisis.. f*ck FF/FG".
Still think he's very talented as a musician however.
The one song of the new album, Paddy, is about his uncle and has a lot more depth than his earlier stuff, so fingers crossed
Saw him supporting Enter Shikari earlier this year and I agree that he needs more breadth. The initial impact is incredible but it was a bit samey in the end
Still tempted by that Whelan's gig though
God that brings me back. I had to google the one and only Buster Bloodvessel just there, and I was suprised to see that he is only 65, I would have thought he was older. Might be worth going to, just to see a load of ageing ska heads jumping around like its 1985 all over again 😎
Agree. Saw him at Bearded Theory in UK. Very angry! But I liked what I was hearing. Saw him walking about the festival later. Very freaked out by the white iris on his contact lens! Freaky!
falling in reverse are like a bring me the horizon but not goth
Ronnie Radke is a nut case who’s been in jail and all, he raps, does country , balleds, screaming, dub step you name it haha
Very talented
