As the title says, this is a new thread for chat about Dun Laoghaire in general without the traffic & transport nonsense.
Enjoy.
It was put up to the right of the pump track.
I know it's not Dún Laoghaire but does anyone know what happened to the new basketball net that went up in Blackrock park next to the pump track? There's a brand new court there and kids were using it a lot and now the net (hoop, backboard everything) is gone and they've put picnic benches on it?
If you look at the space between the tower and the church you can see the rubble that fell off. It's crumbling and this fencing is required to keep people safe until a solution is found.
Just don't tell the loonie left that pulled down the fencing and barriers at the canal last night!
DLRCC are gonna convert the spire to high rise asylum seeker accommodation.
Anyone know why all around the spire of the church in Dun Laoghaire town centre is fenced off? Is there some risk of falling debris?
And in this report it says ratsh*t was found IN the bread??
I have the written EHO report detailing where the rat droppings were found, where's your documentation that disproves this?
I've already explained that what you said wasn't true. I don't know the people involved but it's not fair to say something as serious as that about a restaurant when it isn't true. That's all I'm getting at
My point is that something as clearly unlikely as "ratshit in the food" was not true. And it wasn't.
There's a world of difference between rodent droppings on the floor (every house in Dublin has probably had rodent droppings on the kitchen floor at some stage whether you like it or not) and rodent droppings in the food served to customers
That's all
I'm not party to know why some parts are published and some are not, I have the written report on strudel but as I said I believe posting it would be in breech of GDPR
There's no mention of Strudel there though. My question is why would the info about Chocolat de Frèd be published but not about Strudel if what you say is true?
The Food Safety Authority doesn't go into detail for this specific outlet, but it is public information that they were subject to a closure order.

It was Feb i think so it was an earlier report. They found dropping in the store room not in the food and it was closed for 5 days. Google strudal bakery.
From Dublin Live:
This makes more sense. Apparently it was an error in reporting by an on-line news site
"Apology - Strudel Artisan Bakery. In an earlier version of this article it was reported incorrectly that rodent droppings were found in the food. This was incorrect. The rodent droppings were found in the storeroom"
I can't see any mention of Strudle in Dun Laoghaire at all there.
I only mention it because, let's face it, an accusation of rat **** being found by a health inspector in the food a restaurant is serving is incredible.
It was published, I was referring to the direct report issued by the EHO not the fsai publication
Why would it be subject to gdpr? Why wasn't it published along with the Fred report if it's a public health matter? Sounds highly dubious
I've access to the report but I think posting it would be breech of GDPR
Do you have a link to that? Rat droppings having been found in the food??
Ok, so it is technically transport but I think it belongs in here.

Just saw that part. That may be an expensive underpayment.
I'd agree although it's an amenity at least and we'll used, you'd have to wonder what happens when it's all apartments, not much left!
Now Former Labour counciller:-)
Not sure where this properly belongs but here will do, local Labour councillor and business owner Juliet O'Connell appears in the WRC, on the wrong side of the judge. Tut tut.

Closed for two days, and reopened once measures were put in place. Rat droppings were found in the food of Strudle on Patrick street

yikes
They sell black balaclavas as well, which is ironic as i believe they were robbed a couple of weeks back by a bunch of lads wearing the exact same black balaclavas.
It's main business seems to be thriving = vapes. They seem to have larger floor area devoted to same than when first opened.
İt's absolutely awful. Unfortunately the council can't do anything about it as it complies with the relevant planning exemptions. I believe that the community section in the council approached the shop offering to share the cost of new signage but were knocked back.
That Asian owned shop with the ugly signage makes DL look like one of those poor English provincial towns like Rochdale or Oldham. Surprised at the council allowing such a thing.
