Katie won 5 world amateur titles and Olympic gold. And many EU/euro championship. And is a two weight unified professional world champion. Kellie is absolutely not our greatest ever boxer.
How do you really compare different boxers, in different disciplines, across different genders, and different eras, it's Bullsh1t really.
Enjoy Kellie, she's been brilliant, and achieved great things in her career. Leave it at that, and in the winter when you're bored and having a beer compare boxers for the craic, but not worth arguing over. Enjoy them all I say.
Well, in case of Katie and Kellie, they did compete in same era, albeit Katie few years older.

No, it's not. In Katie's day when she was winning world titles she had 3-4-5 fights against opponents all over the world.
Also, her Olympic opponents in London were in my opinion clearly better than what Kellie faced at these games.
There's a reason Kellie stayed at 64 kgs for several years in Ireland!!!
Kellie is up there as one of our greats, and a double gold at the Olympics is superb, but she hasn't achieved close to what Katie has achieved in amateur and professional.
Finally: both at 60 at their best, and Katie beats Kellie 10/10 times. She was too quick and too explosive (in the speed of feet and hand sense)

Actually don't think the LW division got any stronger after Katie went pro. That's not taking anything away from Harrington, she's a 2 time Olympic gold medalist.
Winning an amateur World title is as hard if not harder than winning Olympic gold.

Yep. Billy was gone few months before Rio and Zaur took over. So at least 61
10 medals including 3 golds for Zaur now. Despite a lot of negativity in the last few games you can't argue with that return.
Just watched back the hannon interview to refresh my memory. It was a lot worse then i remembered, she answered wanted to move on, said she was not a politician and he kept on and on for a few minutes after and saying her tweets represent her views. For the stuff he wrote on twitter to come out then is quite unbelievable the audacity he had. I don't care what age he was, anybody over the age of 14 anyway decent would not have tweeted the stuff he did and he goes at Harrington then as if he has some moral authority. He deserves to rightfully be pulled up again and again.
She wrote one tweet and he hammered her like she was a mass murderer.
I think he was just trying to make a name for herself.
Kellie was a victim of manipulation by GB news. It's easy to respond emotionally if you hear children have been murdered.
Her hatchet job attacking Pete Taylor's reputation and character in her book was a lot worse than the OTB affair. Taylor really put her back in her place.

Right? Come off it…you don't attack a person's character/reputation the way she did, and excuse it with "maybe" she was right….all it did was expose her jealousy and bitterness, and Pete saw that clearly, hence his rebuttals. He addressed all her accusations with clear and passionate responses.
Anyway…kind of off topic.
I'm just saying we don't know what goes on so can't really judge it fairly.

She made damning accusations about Pete Taylor, all hearsay and her view. Nothing at all with any substance or proof. She publicly attacked his character and reputation with hearsay nonsense.
Maybe you don't think a person's name and character means much, and is free to be sullied and attacked, but he didn't see it like that….and fair play to him.
It looked to me that Harrington looked much bigger than her opponent. Was it just camera angles. I'm not trying to suggest she had a weight advantage I'm just curious.
Yes, did look a weight difference alright. Kellie wider and more overall solid. Chinese girl looked thinner and leaner. But both, of course had to make 60 kgs
What did taylor say in response?. 2 wrongs dont a might right either. Hannons tweets say a lot more about his character then Harringtons 1 tweet says about her.

Kellie made the damning accusations in her book and Taylor responded is all. The article shows what she said and shows how he responded.
Bringing up this in regards to what i said about hannon is indicating 2 wrongs on your part, it had nothing to do with my post. Hanon was a prick simple as.
I was responding to another poster. Plenty people think Kellie was wrong on the OTB issue, and they labeled her racist for it. I just added that this issue wasn't as bad, in my view as the allegations in her book about Pete Taylor.
Anyway, I'll leave it there. The thread doesn't need to go too far down this road
Fair enough, i would argue alot of the country going by latest polls hold v similar views to Harrington on immigration.
