The SF was the real final Kellie won that easily. The fact one judge had it the other way shows yet again how terrible some of the judging is.
Very skilful boxer, Kellie. The fact that she could switch to southpaw must be very disconcerting to an opponent. Thought Kellie should have stood off more in the laxt round with the fight won

Yes very high level fight again. Makes it even sweeter that she's had to beat the best to earn the gold. That was a close fight and her ability to finish rounds strong prob made all the difference in rounds 1 and 2 but no doubting she deserved the win. Unreal achievement.
Judges don't see the same perspective you see on screen. And you don't see theirs.
Nor do the RTE commentators. That was like a one sided beat down according to Hugh Cahill!
yup. Very competitive and skilful fight. Tight margins at the top.
Cahill and Donovan are shocking.... BBC called it for Kelly in real time, and thankfully the judges agreed this time.
What did they do?
Hugh Cahill one most incompetent analyst of any sport I have seen. Few times saying a 10-8 rd you “have” to knock your opponent down or give them a count. And Donovan not much better.
Yeah Donovan wasted on the commentary unfortunately. Much better as a pundit. Think Hugh is a bad influence on him.

One fight was contentious. One was more to do with refereeing than judging. The rest of boxers were simply beaten.
Eddie Hearn should make her an offer she can't refuse. Harrington v Taylor to be the "Croker fight".
Great win for kellie and kudos to both boxers,the skills on display were excellent,it was a great fight to watch.
Ireland has won 3 of the 12 women's Olympic golds awarded so far since women's boxing was introduced in 2012 (Although 5 more will be awarded in Paris to make it 3 out of 17)
3 out of the 4 lightweight golds. Had things gone to plan, it could have been 4 out of 4!
Phenomenal record that is only going to improve thanks to Katie Taylor and Kellie Harrington, they have set the standard and given confidence to the young Irish boxers.
Kellie has already said many time she is not interested in money or turning pro. Tonight she retired and I’m finding it very hard not to say she is our greatest ever boxer.
She can't be denied the accolade.
