What you might not be aware of are the future projections of migration into Ireland. Get ready for a wild ride if you do bother to look into it. Following that big maybe, try to square it with our current housing crisis.

PSF ran DCC with a huge war chest from the government, they ran from 2014-2019 and based it on building houses they got so many seats

They build nothing, rejected their own projects and ended up with less units than they started with in 2014

PSF want to see as many people homeless as possible and no waffle on the internet or half asses document will change that

When? Since near the end of the last housing crisis, funnily enough. But increasing each year, and projections to continue to increase to perhaps 7 million total by 2056, iirc.

Bear in mind, previous projections have been significantly lower. Sure, why not 9 million by then? Its all gravy. Its not like a lack of housing the last decade has slowed anyone, right?

We have a limited no of builders to do the work ,every year the cost of materials is going up, young people are leaving Ireland, it could take 10 years to fix it ,it's an international trend .High rents ,high housing costs . meanwhile the government is converting more empty buildings into hostels for refugee,s . Years ago the law banning bedsits increased costs for landlords and increased the average rental cost .

Tax credits to encourage conversion of old offices into apartments could help .

We need more social housing and also more housing built for people to buy or rent

Theres no simple solution to this .we need a comprehensive 10 year plan involving councils and the private sector
