One more sleep till tickets go on sale.
Latest GFS radar modelling shows Sunday still fairly clear. Maybe a few spits, but shouldn't be any proper rain until early hours of Monday.
Friday daytime is looking likely to be rainy though:
I don't understand where this idea that they'd transfer people from a 52 seater coach onto one of four 25-33 seater minibuses started but it's total nonsense.
The travel section of the website is very clear:
A direct non-stop service from Dublin City Centre will operate to the festival on Thursday 1st August and Friday 2nd August with return journeys on Monday 5th August."
If you look at the locations of Highfield business park and gate 3 you can see that doing anything other than sending coaches directly to gate 3 would generate significant extra volumes of traffic and require a huge number of additional vehicles and drivers.
ETA: The frustration is more directed at @kwat for confidently giving out the wrong information.
Yeah at the moment that's nearly looking worse than the Sunday (although could change). Looking like light ish rain tomorrow from around 1 until 5ish and then maybe light rain again late Sunday. Not the worst at all.
from YR.
Beautiful clear sunny day here at the moment …
We're driving from Waterford ...just have a mate coming from Dublin.
Two years ago on the Monday we were waiting on the shuttle back to business park to get lift from there and there was 3 or 4 bus eireann coaches at the actual festival pick up while we were waiting for the shuttle. Its very confusing
So we are under impression the bus eireann coaches go directly to festival...
Bizarre as it may seem, I find the default apple weather app to be very reliable, I use it throughout the year for sports, biking and stuff, it’s rarely wrong especially 1-2 days out.
If it stays like this I’ll gladly take that, hoping I’ll be mostly tucked up in the tent for Sunday night/ Monday rain, hopefully not raining for the pack up on Monday.
Showing this currently:
Surely you could show proof of payment, it would then be TM’s responsibility to at least accommodate you at the ticket office on site at ATN, usually to the side of the wristband exchange. (Subject to their opening hours)
Edit they’re a hard bunch to get on the phone, forget about finding a number on the TM web, best to do a Google search, it might even be a UK number, but they’ll still help you. Important whilst you’re on the line not to press the easy default options like “press 1” these tend to lead you to a dead end where it just gives you recorded advice, you need to go for the option that will allow you to speak to someone.
The size of the pics !!!!!!! 😣 maybe reduce so they are easier read …??
Its a sellers market…..
Lots looking, not many selling .. Usually for around 200.
Not having any luck myself so far….
Does anybody know if there's going to be a stall doing piercings? Thanks a lot in advance for any info.
Does anyone know if you can use the main campsite entrance of you have family camping tickets?
😂 I use boards on the phone, I take it you’re on web? How do the pics display?
I think you have to??
MASSIVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
🤣🤣🤣
What’s the general approach for driving from Dub direction? Put Portlaw into maps and at some point a distance out the signage takes over?
On the map there is a campervan and family entrance
Is that not Campervan + Family Campervan ???
Every other year we went in the General admission entrance and had to slog it over to the Family !!! 🙄
You could do that ..
.It will bring you in by Waterford - Kilmeaden -Portlaw ….
Yellow line is the route . Campervans are sent a different route - Further down the N25 towards Cork, and turn off at Kilmacthomas.
Do you not answer your own question there? Two years ago you saw Bus Eireann coaches at the festival site and did not see them at Highfield.
Yep. It is very well signed. You'll be fine.
Anyone just use the sat nav and get there all right?
i dont think that will work out …
Yes bit things can change. Was just checking to be sure
It is advisable to follow the event directions, rather than Google Maps or a sat nav, in my (and lots of other people's) experience.
My bad if that info was incorrect. Was basing it off the answer to same question I asked ATN directly but they seem to have answered it as if I was being dropped off (shuttle bus) rather than Bus Éireann (seems to be direct)
Arriving on site Saturday late morning. Thinking of heading to One For The Road campsite. How does that sound as a strategy? That entrance down by the house sounds ideal.
Ye know the way…when you hit the campsite and indecision descends on the group it can get tense!! Good to have a destination decided upon.
Can't wait!
Wonder will there will be a return scheme for cans at a certain part of site. Would love to see designated bins for them with the money going to local charities and foodbanks
was just going to ask this! I know they are trying to do something for Another Love Story but apparently it isn't as straight forward as you would have thought…….
Might be at the back of the Bandstand? Theres usually a lot of Craft places there… Or down the Avenue towards Curraghmore house?
