One more sleep till tickets go on sale.
Liked Gilla band, true enough. Some peeps were a bit 'hard' on them in the Boards, at a time, cos they changed their name. Accused them of pandering etc etc. I just liked the racket thet made. Similarly, have seen Melts & Enola Gay make great rackets at ATN (I think) as well as Sprints.
Agreed - feels like the hype train building a head of steam, but that is assuredly good! Will help get me through this wekeend of work, as well as next week 😕.
Photos are mighty! Thanks for sharing.
Mogwai 2018 blew the head off me, the Good the Bad and the Queen epic in 2019, best I've ever seen Damon and an honourable mention to Black Midi in 2019, unquestionably the most amazing 45 minutes of drumming I've ever seen. But loads of lovely stuff in the sun too, and the love in the air during Patti Smith…yeah, even from my 2 years there, there are some outstanding memories.
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard in 2022 blew me away, didn't know any of their music in advance but they were the highlight of weekend. Rival Consoles that year was incredible too. Agree with the Gilla band shout, and also the Or:la Arcadia Afterburner set from the second year of the festival.
One of my fondest memories last year was dancing to Partiboi69 in the pissings of rain on the Friday night without only 30 or so other lunatics.
KGLW in 2022 is hands down the greatest gig I've ever been to. Houseplants in the same year was also quite special. Father John Misty and Bombay Bicycle Club in the pissing rain also get honorable mentions.
2022 was a great year after Covid. My girlfriend wouldn't really be into anything other than the blandest pop music so Gilla Band, Enola Gay, Thumper, King Kong Company, King Gizz and many others were quite a eye-opener for her in a live setting. She'd often ask me to change the music in the car when my playlists are going, or at least turn it down, but hearing it live was completely different. I think we opened with Gilla Band and I remember her dancing along after 10 minutes and going "I don't know what the hell I'm listening to but I just love it... and I don't know why". It balanced out beautifully with laying on the grass on the Sunday afternoon hungover listening to Rufus Wainwright... maybe having a small power nap until my "recovery can" spilled on my leg! It's what makes dealing with the portaloo's worth it!
stumbled in here late on the Saturday night last year and it was hoppin’
What did you think of BTP? Hopefully you will be back next year!
Kojaque with a full band, Jon Hopkins and Damon & co. were class in 2019, as well as Black Midi and that amazing drummer. I thought Caribou were epic last year, especially Sun. 6th time seeing them - best craic yet. And some mad wan called Rising Damp who had Cambium Club seriously going off in the early evening!
Thank you, I really can’t wait for it. 🙏
2018: New Power Generation, Underworld stood out musically. But in general just taking in the festival site in glorious weather, exploring down by the house, wooded area, seeing Arcadia for the first time.. I remember on the Friday evening after we got set up, had a few tins and went into the arena for the first time - there was a group playing 'All Together Now' by The Farm on a bluetooth speaker just as you left the campsite. It felt like a real moment of excitement!
2019: Really enjoyed Orbital, Hot Chip, Moodyman, The Wailers, Sing Along Social was great craic that year too in the lashing rain! Josh Wink was great on Arcadia too. But unfortunately the standout memories were the traffic, rain and wasps. It was the least enjoyable ATN by a distance.
2022: Brilliant year, probably the best! Remember it well for being the first proper festival post-covid and the last one before a good few friends moved abroad over the following 12 months. King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Flight Facilities, Jungle, then discovering some DJs I hadn't heard of such as Inside Moves at AVA and Brian Ring in Ping Pong Disco. Great festival all round.
2023: Overmono, Coy Haste b2b Moving Still, the run of Iggy Pop > Le Boom > Skatebard was as good of a night as I've ever had at a festival! The muck was frustrating but many laughs had with people struggling through it and by the Sunday it had dried up reasonably well.
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Róisín Murphy, New Power Generation, Orbital, Patti Smith, CMAT all come to mind for me as standouts. But Nick Cave above all .
Thanks so much! The excitement is really building now. Roll on next Friday and let’s hope the sun comes out 🤞☀️
Hopefully she's better by next week

What would happen in the event of a headliner cancelling like that last minute? Can't imagine there would be too many ready made replacements knocking around on short notice.
Gemma Dunleavy's ready and waiting..
last minute phone calls to Irish artists. Happened the other year with body and soul gif two acts and they got kneecap and the Mary wallopers in as last minute acts

Good read, interviewer asks about the mud and sound issues last year https://909originals.com/2024/07/24/ahead-of-all-together-now-2024-emer-oconnor-chats-to-festival-curator-will-rolfe/
Happily take that, seen him a few times and he never disappoints
Very interesting read.
Please. Noooo!! I must be the only person on the island of Ireland who does not 'get' Chic. And honestly, I've tried! But, to each their own!
This seems to be the only thread discussing ATN this year. Even the Facebook ATN group is quiet.
Glad I found this thread 😎👌
