Music Master needs to go on a break when she's covering for Dave.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,377 ✭✭✭✭castletownman

I assume she still makes gaffes every show? I'm asking because I switch stations as soon as I hear she is covering for anyone.

Imagine being so bad at your job that the flow of a basic segment on a show is ruined

Imagine being so bad at your job that you press the wrong button and play the sports news from two days ago.

Imagine being so bad at your job that you talk all over the intro to the #1 song at the very end of your top 1000 songs weekend.

In what world is an old bulletin going out the presenters problem? It’s up to the reader to make sure it’s updated, not the presenter. There might not even be a way for the presenter to see when it was last updated for all we know.

It's not the reader's problem, that's for sure. They're recorded clips, you select the one you want and press play.

It makes much more sense for the reader to put the file in the log module themselves so the presenter isn’t searching for a new recording every hour and they just play whatever is there. It’s also possible that when an old recording goes out it’s because the reader didn’t know they were meant to be recording the bulletin and went to do it live.

Eh, wasn't the number one song played by Ray Foley? Bit unfair to be bitching about Alison Curtis when she wasn't on air.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,476 ✭✭✭nc6000

An awful lot of radios seem to be stuck on Today FM. Can you not just change the station or put on a podcast if some presenters bother you so much?

Love when Foley has a little dig at Dave Moore.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 3,408 ✭✭✭hold my beer

Missed that, what was he saying? I can't listen to Dave at all on his own.

The washing the legs thing. It was innocent enough if you didn't know that he doesn't like him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 4,514 ✭✭✭TaurenDruid

That was exactly my point. It wasn't Alison who played the wrong sports news, either (it's a regular enough occurrence that I've heard it done a few times this year, on various shows).

Was there beef between Ray Foley and Dave / Dermot & Dave?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,749 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

Foley can be fairly catty. He used to always rip on Ray D'Arcy when he was there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 3,408 ✭✭✭hold my beer

He still does all the time. Love his impression of him 🤣

Paula in for Louise again. Wonder will Foley mention it 😆

Christ they've done a radio edit of Eminems "Houdini". Never heard this mess of a version before. About 1/3 of it cut out.

is today fm acting up for anyone else? I just had beeps instead of the news and a second song playing over blank space. Painful!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 307 ✭✭Chun the Unavoidable

is taylor swift fm over now? saturday night and the last hour of claire beck was dropped for a bizzare Taylor Swift afterparty" show where Dara Quilty begged people to send in VM's on their way home from the gig (which had just ended…) and it wasn't like he played only TS songs, which didnt make any sense at all.

Yeah that was a wreck the head. The same happened the 80s show on Friday night, cut an hour short. Ridiculous, whoever thought it up is an idiot, as all it will do is piss off your actual Friday and Saturday night listeners.

I've been listening to Block Rockin Beats the past few months at found it great at the beginning. But Christ, it's very repetitive. Can Dec Pierce not expand the playlist? There must be loads of bangers out there we've not or rarely heard of in the past.

Yeah, I do wonder if there are certain (dance) music labels that they aren't licenced to play music from.

Dec seems sound and a decent presenter, but wonder if there's constraints on what he can/can't play.

There seems to be a normal edit and then a super edit that played when I posted this. Thankfully they've resorted to the standard normal edit as default

There must be a lot of people on holidays. The "big" Cash Machine last Friday (€150k) wasn't won, and they didn't do the "we'll keep calling until there's a winner" thing. The rollover to next Friday is only bumping it up to €200k, so €10k/day added instead of the usual > €15k. And no "must be won" next Friday, either.

Is it not a must be won? I thought I heard them saying it was on Spin at the weekend

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 4,514 ✭✭✭TaurenDruid

Well, it wasn't won last Friday, and from what Dave was saying this morning, he was implying it could carry over to next week if it isn't won this coming Friday, either. That could just have been DJ banter, but he certainly didn't say it must be won this Friday.

I seem to remember them saying last week that it could roll over, and I thought how convenient it would be if it did, so that the jackpot could only get even bigger. But this week it was a guaranteed win.

I was driving today and I flicked over to today fm 3 times during KC and I heard the phone call from yesterday in full.

I don't listen much to today fm at all anymore but they really seem to ram this cash machine down your throat

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 292 ✭✭EveryoneKnowsNobodyCares

    No Music Master this morning?
