Normally you would see a date in the calendar at this stage for the Bray Airshow. I wonder if it is going ahead this year🤔
I'm still traumatised after nearly suffocating to death on the dart in 2022 and having to buy a complete set of new clothes when I arrived in Bray.
Might get there this year 😁
I find I have to buy a new set of clothes after I've been to Bray 😁
Battle of Britain Memorial flight on their website have listed the Lancaster, a Spitfire and Hurricane to attend Bray. Given the Saturday date of the show, they don't have another display commitment the previous or following day. Hopefully they will arrive into Bal on the Friday.
On visit Wicklow page for bray airshow have red arrows listed?
No longer there, but it looks like it was an almost copy/paste job from the 2023 section as it was word for word in a lot of parts.

No green party ever called for it to be cancelled
the local green councillor was giving out about it last year, listing off all the things that were wrong with it, from wanting it to be carbon nuetral to saying the noise drowns out conversations to saying Bray will be effected by sea raises come 2050.
She may not have actually said she wanted it cancelled but she wasn't going out of her way to promote it.
Exactly. My statement was correct and yours wasn't.
It was a tongue in cheek post, that I posted 6 weeks ago, when there was uncertainty whether this years show would go ahead. Anyone who follows Air shows in Ireland will know that there is a minority who would like to see them stopped for various reasons, from peace campaigners to environmentalists.
Anyway, its irrelevant now, as its going ahead, so hopefully the weather stays onside and the enthusiasts get to witness the full Battle of Britain display. I know that will be the main draw for me anyway.
Wingwalkers have Bray listed this year again. Though have it for Sunday 4th with Rush on the 3rd?
Wrong way around?

So it's looking like no jets -based on the line up so far.
Less than 2 months left until the airshow and not a word at all about it, very few displays have it listed as well and no over-seas air forces have any listings.
Quite concerning.
Won't be much happening this year. The Spitfires have been grounded in the UK since the recent crash so the BBMF may not be displaying. Reds not listed and there going to Canada in August. If it goes ahead it will probably be the Air Corps and afew local acts
I don't think Viggen will come for just one day. The Baldonnel atc wouldn't let him do a display on return from Bray last year.
Swedish Air Force Historic Flight don't have Bray, or any Irish show North or South on their scheudle so doesn't look likely.

Yeah, more fun plane spotting at Dublin Airport !
When I seen it just listed for Saturday, I felt it didn't bode well. Very unusual to have an Airshow just on a Saturday. Almost like an add on for the family activities in Bray on the ground that weekend. A pity given its peak in 2016 when we seen the Red Arrows and Freece Tricolori on the same bill. It seems to be the lose of the IAA sponsorship that has seen the slow demise/ return to the earlier shows.
I was at the English Riviera Air Show last weekend. 2 day event and there was a Spit flying with a P51 both days. There was also a C47 Dakota listed as part of the same display, but it didn't show up, there was a Blenheim instead. This was just 2 and 3 days after the crash, so I don't think the Spits are "grounded" as such.
It's the RAF BBMF whose operations are currently suspended. Civilian warbirds aren't affected.
Is it safe to say it'll be a bit of an underwhelming display this year?
Holiday schedule this year means we'll be home for it for the 1st time in years so if the weather played it's part, was thinking of sailing down to see it… It was attending the Bray airshow in 2017 and seeing all the spectator boats that inspired me to get back into sailing and buy a boat.. and this is finally the year I can go down…
Would even try and do Bray and then Rush the following day from the water if weather permitting..
Did Rush before but the weather was pants!!
Lineup announced today https://brayairdisplay.com/in-the-air/
Aerosuperbatic Wingwalkers
BBMF Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane
Eddie Goggins
Irrish Air Corps
IHF Chipmunk and Stearman
P51 Mustang "Miss Helen", T6 Texan and Spitfire G-PRXI
Rich Goodwin
Royal Jordanian Falcons
Irish Coast Guard S&R Demo
Sean Bennett's Stearman
Team Raven
Pretty toned back this year. Weak enough lineup
I am not sure if the BBMF will make it after the sad loss of their pilot Mark Long a few weeks ago. They are still grounded and have pulled out of a show the week before Bray.
Definitely very poor line up this year don't know what else they can get
That'd be a shame. A couple of years ago they flew right over my house on the way into Baldonnel, the noise was something else (in a really good way)
I was copying old photos onto a new laptop yesterday and came across a load of pics from Flightfest in 2013, a pity nothing like that has happened since.
Aer Lingus Airbus A320neo added to the show
BBMF Lancaster has been cleared to return to displays.
Jordanian Falcons arrived in Weston today little bit early
They seem to arrive early every year. Suprised they are not based out of Baldonnel while here, are they not classed as a military team?
They were at RIAT at the weekend so likely would have had to move on. Their display is really excellent this year.
Anyone know if the Air Corps will be displaying a C295?
