Some lap by Norris
McLaren are on it, serious pace in that car.
Norris with a great lap.
McClaren front row.
Tsunoda red flags it.
Tsunoda went for a take-off there.
Oh Yuki...
Busy night ahead for the RB mechanics
Yuki launching the RB
Jesus.
Interesting last 2 mins now, with traffic and what not
one lap shootout.
"He's learning to fly,
With a front and back wing,
Coming down,
Is the hardest thing....."
Verstappen not going again?
Looks like Max is not going out, so the McClarens are kind of wasting their time unless they are racing themselves.
nope.
Yuki was lucky there. Could very easily have launched over the techpro
well might be some drama, but maybe may not much chance of improving
They may not get to the line to start the flying lap.
All that for a lot of noting.
Shout out to the TV director who let us see basically nothing for that last 2 minutes. The 2 cars that improved times were Hamilton (I think?) and Ricciardo, but we got to watch Norris go into the pits and then they switched to Piastri doing same.
Great result for the McLarens though
Yeah it was a bit of a mess, the timing graphics never worked for the last run.
Some going for McLaren, really look faster on merit than redbull.
Max looked to be fuming in the garage. That was a very anticlimactic end to qualifying
Fine front row. Max was not a happy camper, Russell too.
Checo.....…my God he must really want a holiday !!
He'll have a holiday after next week's race, the only question is how long a holiday. Could be a long one...
Logan Sargeant is now equal in head-to-head qualifying with Perez this year - they have both out-qualified each other 7 times. Perez really can't stay in that seat much longer, it's getting ridiculous now…
Great to see McLaren back at the top of qualifying - Brazil 2012 was their last front row lockout.
I wouldn’t be surprised if some other team would give him a chance with the money he’s meant to bring with him. Basically taking a chance on him regaining confidence in a different car. Unlikely but would love to see how Sainz would get on in that car. He’s generally performed very well in multiple cars against some highly rated drivers.
Nobody in the Red Bull stable would convince me they are going to do well but Perez’s confidence seems so shot now that it’s worth trying any of the three.
surely sainz is being considered for checos seat, he deserves it, been driving well
Haas potentially. They have Bearman, Ocon rumoured but a move for Checo would be financially worth a punt ....
Apparently Williams are happy to get rid of Sargeant in the summer break, Ocon had a seat fit with Williams to join mid season but Bruno Famin put an end to that according to the rumours. You'd imagine Williams would be all over Checo if he became available
Would have thought he was but there must have been reasons he wasn’t in consideration in the months leading up to Perez’s contract renewal. Like Perez’s form had already started to dip by then.
I’ve listened to podcasts and that suggesting the relationship with Verstappen/Red Bull might not have been the best from years ago but don’t know how true that is. Since then the gap with McClaren and Mercedes has closed so the need for someone like Sainz is even greater so who knows.
