Fact is, we need Russian Gas. The whole eastern hemisphere needs gas from Russia. Don't be so simplistic to think otherwise. This war was a result of the US trying to strongarm Russia and break main gas pipes all over the place - to achieve a better price. You lot need to read a few books. Where exactly in Europe did they have a heatwave near 50 degrees ? . Im just back from southern Croatia and Cyprus for the last month and the highest we got was 42 for a day or two. I go there for the last 20 years and that's par for the course this time of year.
Its over 40C across much of Spain as we speak. It hit 45C in Croatia this week. Neither are normal for those areas at this time of year. Both are serious health risks and when it hits 50C people start dying in large numbers from heat stroke.

Conditions which are settled over southern europe as we speak and are sufficient to cause organ failure and death. Unless you have access to AC in these conditions your chance of death are significantly elevated.
Recently areas in the Middle East and India have recorded temperatures of 51c, beyond the point of long term survivability. These are the highest temps recorded for these areas. Each time it happens there are excess deaths recorded.
