You don't know what your talking about. If he consistently fired at this standard then he would be a marksman. A firing range is static. This was a good shot. It clipped his ear. I actually meant Vance, not Pence. I am not sure if Pence has referred to him as Hitler but it is telling how many of the people who worked with Trump are not voting for him. You would think two terms would have plenty of carry over even with a time lapse but that seems unlikely if Trump wins.
Though I would guess Pence hit his limit when he realised Trump really did want to overturn democratic elections with fake electors and stay on regardless of the vote. Many Republicans can put up a lot as long as you hurt poor people and minorities, guess he hit his limit.

It does not matter why they did it. If they truly believed it then they wouldn't tolerate it at all. If Vance truly believed it then,then why did he take the nomination? And this is the problem a ton of people will have from now on. The arguments for or against Trump have to be consistent. They are not. You are talking about the people who won't work with Trump but the current VP has the exact same problem. The only reason we don't talk about it is because there was no book deals or NYT interviews for those people.
All the AH comparisons are a dime a dozen. When Trump assassinated the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard In a drone strike the Democrats were screaming that it was reckless and could cause WW3. Yet Biden did the exact same thing.Obama did it every week. When Trump assassinated a senior member of ISIS in Iraq CNN, AOC and all of the usual suspects where talking about this animal (is it ok to say vermin?) as if it was f@*^ing Ghandi he had killed. When the Global Hawk was shot down in 2019 Trump refused to order a military response much to the chagrin of people like John Bolton and others. And this above all is why the AH comparisons are frankly ridiculous. Trump for all of his rhetoric has possibly the least interventionist US President in history. For all of the Democrats hysteria, when it came to China (accusations of racism) they ramped up those same Trump policies.
They are there because they believe they can get what they want out of him. Maybe they believe the US structure is there to stop him or maybe they don't care. He is older and seemingly dumber than Hitler, though Hitler was no bright spark with some of his decisions,so it could well work out.
A few prominent Republicans such as Josh Hawley have outright called for a Christian Nationalist state which a modern day Hitler would be good to work towards so some would be actively for an American Hitler.
There may be other reasons. You could equally ask why would anyone follow him after his lies about the election being stolen? And yet many have, including many who knows it is a lie such as Tucker and others have to know while prepping non existent evidence for court cases they tried.
As for the comparison I would say it is more about his demonization of minorities and obvious desire to be a dictator and not be beholden to elections.

If you're worried about minorities (which I don't believe you are), then you have to consider the antisemitism that exists within the Democratic party that they have been increasingly turning a blind eye too much like Corbyns Labour.

If you are worried about minorities then surely you have to ask why all of them bar Trans are seeing Trump more favourably.
If you're worried about extremists in the Republican Party then you surely you have to question why the Democrats funded them in the primaries for the congressional and senate elections. A very reckless action. Even James Carsvill the architect of this acknowledges that the Democrats are advocates of insane policies that don't resonate with the moderate voter.
If your worried about violent rhetoric then you should have something to say about the fact that Democrats and there charlatan cheerleaders have been openly using violent rhetoric for years.
If you are worried about election denialism then you have to ask why Hilary Clinton conceded an election and then sought to deligitamize it over the next four years.
The fact is to the ordinary person who has to get up and work and who doesn't live in the Beltway brownstone or a Gated community certain basic facts will be apparent. For four years after 2016 every piece of riff raff in America was given Carte Blanche to riot and loot in the streets so long as it had the veneer of a good cause like the George Floyd protests. Community amenities very destroyed on a large scale and the deaths of George Floyd and others was attributed to Trump despite all of this being the jurisdiction of local government. More often than not in municipalities led by black democrats.
Is there such a thing as a MAGA cult? Absolutely! But the moderates are moving over to them because they see the democrats have their equivalents that are just as dangerous.
Its quite simple. Before you condemn someone like Trump you genuinely have to have your own side of the street clean. The Democrats are light years from this.

I know it's irrelevant in the scale of things but was watching some of the rnc last night and had to laugh out loud when Trump started discussing how the shooting scene unfolded in dramatic fashion and described all the blood running down his face. He said when he was told he was shot in the ear he asked the ER doctor, what's with all the blood? and the doctor told him, everyone knows that the ear is one of those places that just bleeds more than other parts, so there's just a lot of blood but basically you're ok it's just a scratch. Good to see he hasn't changed much at all. :)
