It looks like a shorter, narrow lampshade to me. Possibly taken at an angle as the picture looks askew too.

The second one is the ensuite of a nursery, you can see the changing table so the shower isn't used. It doesn't even have a screen or curtain.
The first one looks fine to me, the third is a bit dodgy alright but I'll not hear a word against that house! 🤣
We'll have to agree to disagree - that style of furnishing does nothing for me, the "fill every space with furniture and every surface with knick-knacks" style. But of course, when you buy a house usually all the previous owner's possessions go with them, or are cleared.
I think it's one of the reasons some properties which have clearly been cleared of personal stuff and staged to within an inch of their life can come across as cold in estate agent photos, but at least it gives you a better view of the property, rather than the current owner's taste.
LOL, I'd have to strip out half of the furniture in that house and most of the cushions. Too many cupboards in various places. Its way too cluttered.
It's definitely a bit too busy for me, but I think what they have is lovely. We see so many big houses that are empty because the owners had no idea how to make them a home, or houses filled with cheap, tacky stuff.
There's a lot of high end furniture in that house, some of it looks to be antique. If I was buying it I'd try to get the owners to sell some of it, I love the wardrobes in particular.

I agree its a bit cluttered but you are not buying the clutter or the cushions - you are buying the house! You have to see passed the clutter.
I think the mix of old and new furniture works. Its a beautifully done house - cosy, snug and peaceful - everything a home should be.
It has small enough windows in comparison to the size of some of the rooms so you could be right about it being dark. The lamplight has probably contributed to the cosiness factor for me when I was looking at the pics, I didn't necessarily notice all the lamps.

The lamps are everywhere. I tried to count them, but gave up. And there are nearly as many dressers / presses squeezed in everywhere.
The kitchen layout really wouldn't work for me either - there is a big lump of a wall in the middle of it, and the dining table is offside in a very tight little nook… boxed in with another dresser.
I'm also not a fan of the kitchen island, but that is just me.
I think light is blocked by the mature trees surrounding the house, it looks brighter in the video. I could live with it though!

They wouldn't have them on all the time. They were all turned on for the estate agent while he/she was taking pictures.

No I couldnt live there. Interior is too stark and cold for me and the rooms look a bit small. I would expect a decent garden aswell for that price ( not that I could afford it anyway 😂)
I would take exception to the agent's description of "cosy" for that house. I know it's empty, but I can't imagine that ever even coming close to meriting the moniker "cosy".

House itself would not be for me. Even at 300K I'd struggle.
Plus I'm not accident prone, but I guarantee I'd be in A&E within a week with those stairs. Lovely to look at but very impractical.

WOW!! lower mount pleasant avenue has certainly changed since the late 70s when i lived in a dingy bedsit there…im also nearly 100% sure it was number 20 as well…way nicer now then it was then!
No, you have it wrong, 'cosy' in AE speak just means small. Like silly small for the price.
