Very exciting positron. Did you test drive it?
I've booked a test drive next week. Does anyone know if it's accompanied by a staff member? I've never driven an electric car before let alone one with no physical buttons.
I expect that you have also watched every Youtube review available on the Highland Model 3 including top tricks and hidden features…..welcome to the rabbit hole.
You will not be accompanied.
…and many many "must have" accessories videos. My AliExpress basket is filling up fast. Even kids have started commenting on my new obsession. Two weeks agon it was Ooni ('it would have much nicer on the wallet if I had bought one and stayed buzzy making pizzas and not looking at cars) :D
They explain the car and the controls and then let you get on with it for 30 mins or so. They also allow you to take it for longer periods of times (overnight etc) if you speak to them and book in advance etc which I did. I took it for a weekday night to get a feel of the commute (if you have ever sat in the evening north-bound M50 traffic, the traffic aware cruise-control is worth it's weight in gold). Be warned though, once you take it home and if you have kids and if let them see it, you will have no choice but to buy it.
I have just received the SEAI grant questionnaire from Tesla. Amongst other details, it's asking if I am trading in a vehicle with Tesla. And if so, the trade-in car details.
I haven't got a trade-in offer from Tesla yet, so how can I be sure if I am trading in with them or not? Does it matter to SEAI if I leave it empty or say "not trading-in"? PS: Also got a text saying order has been matched with a vehicle, but no VIN in the app yet.
Did you have to send much in terms of bank statements etc before finance was approved?
Finance Ireland had a bunch of different document that they request - basically proof of identity (passport/driving licence) , proof of address (utility bill etc) and proof of PPS number (to which I gave my salary slip). They didn't ask for anything else.
Just realised I have a VIN in my booking invoice. It's been there since day 1 (last week when I ordered). Must be because I ordered from pre-configured inventory?
Anyone know which vessel, where/when etc? Delivery between 18th July and 2Nd August.
Still no word on trade-in valuation either.
Possibly Toreador …arrives Zeebrugge tonight at 11pm. Cars would then need to get from Zeebrugge to Ireland but most likely a good bet if you haven't been offered a firm collection appointment but do have a VIN. Sit tight you will hear from Tesla in a few days.
I noticed a VIN pop into mine recently too... Still estimate dates 30th July to 14th Aug... Probably because we have pick up set for Cork ?
VINs can appear a month+ out, it's the delivery slot that begins the firming up process
Well, I am looking at Marine traffic sites anyway… :D
TOREADOR reached Zeebrugge 00:11 today (17th). And from what I have gathered, it's either CELINE or THAMES HIGHWAY that brings these cars from Zeebrugge to us. Both are currently docked in different ports in the UK. So perhaps their next run is to Zeebrugge and then to Dublin. Fingers crossed.

Traveling to Belfast this weekend from south. Just want to check if the speedometer will automatically convert to mph from kmph on Model 3
Won't change to mph until you reach Banbridge 🙂
no, it will stay in KM, but the car will display the speed limits for you in KM also (converted from miles), so for 70mph it will show you a limit of 112km/h, or in a 40mph zone it will display 62km/h and so on…
It looks like the Celine will be in Zeebrugge tomorrow
as long as I don't have to run calculations in my mind converting miles to kms I am happy :)
I have an estimated delivery of 19th July to 3rd August. Guessing the 19th is out then :)
18th July - 2nd August here. Just so happens that I need to be in office (doing the entire length of dreaded M50, twice a day) for three days in the second week of August. Fingers crossed for Telsa not delaying it beyond 2nd August.
What would the "waranty distance" limit have been on M3P in 2021 ?
.
Wondering about : https://www.futuredrivalia.ie/car-details/?3778682=2021%20Tesla%20Model%203
Warranty periods have been the same since M3 launch AFAIK - but stand to be corrected here
https://www.tesla.com/en_ie/support/vehicle-warranty
8 years or 192000km for the battery and drivetrain
Does anyone know if Hire Purchase allows you to pay lump sums early to reduce the term?
Also, I heard tethering to the phone isn’t great. Some reviewers saying it disconnects until the car is stopped. Is this true or does it auto-reconnect?
Booked test drive for tomorrow.
(M3H) My phone doesn't have wireless charging so I'll need to plug it in to charge. Is there a better plan than trailing a wire out from the socket in the back of the armrest?
Isn't there one inside the armrest? Must have a look next time in car, but there is certainly a lighter socket in there somewhere..
Edit, there are two usb-c in the forward compartment in my 2022 Model 3, none under arm rest except for the 12V socket. Highland probably same.
I think that the M3H has a single USB C 60W high speed charging port under the centre armrest.
Yes. There's a single USB-C inside the armrest. 2 more under the rear screen presumably for rear passengers, a 4th USB-A in the glovebox loaded with a USB recording key and a 12V type socket in the front section of the console under the phone rest/wireless chargers.
All are working fine, just wondering about tidy/optimal wiring suggestions. Phone away inside the armrest is definitely tidy.
OK. Seems to be different to the pre Highland.
60W USB is a very handy addition. Would charge my 16" laptop directly.
