I'm pretty sure if anyone gets murdered at a political event, most presidents tend to reach out to the victim's families. Wouldn't have even been limit to that, link to Obama reaching out to Sandy Hook victims below. Imagine he would have done similar with Parkside etc.

I still imagine Trump will be the exact same and will look for unity and consolidarity so long as that's all on his side. He will do what is best for himself, as always.

I think it was probably different polls. If the same polls were asking a question about support for Trump in 2024 after a failed assassination attempt back when they were polling about support for Hillary in 2016, that'd be very strange.

From news reports the area outside the perimeter was supposed to be checked by local police the shooter placed a ladder on the wall to access the roof the ladder was hidden by a tree the shooter was seen by police with a rifle scope the shooter was seen by secret service on the roof for 3 minutes before he started to fire eg the secret service had ample time to shoot him on the roof how was he able to place a ladder on the building without being noticed by local police he was seen on the roof by bystanders before he started shooting
There s a litany of mistakes by local police and secret service the roof and overlooking buildings should have been guarded by local police or else manned by secret service

he should not have been allowed to call the shots on stage immediately after, he should have been hurtled off the stage into the car, and quickly, but he was allowed to stop and search for his shoes, then of course allowed interact with the crowd, none of that should have been allowed, theres needs to be a serious review there, but it also shows the level of power and control he can have at times, hes allowed place others in danger, which is worrying….

Be a bit crass for him to be giving out about security lapses in the immediate aftermath when he's escaped death by millimetes, no?
yes and no, but by him effectively protecting his ego post shooting, he effectively delayed the transfer from the stage to the car, this should not have been allowed to happen, nobody said no to him, this is whats required after such an incident, this is exactly what the secret service are trained for, to take complete control in such situations, it didnt happen, he was allowed to behave in the way he did….

Nobody has a mental block.You are just over extendending the metaphor. Its a coping mechanism from Trumps opponents in the Democratic party and the media especially after their loss in 2016. The Democrats through corrupt means selected Hillary Clinton as their candidate and lost to PT Barnham. Rather than face the humiliation of the loss to Trump they conjured up the bogeyman of a hitleresque rise to power as well as all of the Russian guff.
But the main reason that the Hitler analog is pure fantasy is as follows. Trump is an isolationist. He has military debacle to his name like Bush,Obama and Clinton and now Biden too.

They surrounded Trump as much as possible, but you can't just rush him off the stage immediately because in the immediate aftermath of the shooting you don't know if you're going to be bringing him in a direction where there could still be danger. You don't know if the shooter is just waiting for another shot (and Trump could become more exposed when taking him down steps off the stage because you can't cover him as well). You don't know if there are more shooters. You likely have to wait until more agents get there to better secure an escape route.
Didn't help that Trump then raised himself out of the Secret Service huddle. Can't blame the Secret Service for that.

I'd imagine the Secret Service members are a bit disgruntled about the whole thing too. You're putting your life on the line to shield this guy from an unknown quantity of shooters and he's stopping to pose for pictures.
