Whether or not you think it's "all politics" is immaterial. It is however, at it's very basic level, the decent thing to do even if it is just gesture.

If people claim that is just him just getting mixed up , then surely the biggest lie of them all is trying to make the public believe is compos mentis the last few years

This is the problem. You mention Hitler and because most peoples knowledge of him is post 1933 (in many cases just post 1939), they just don't understand or accept that the trajectory, tactics and rhetoric used by both MAGA and the Nazi party are identical. They only want to argue a narrow understanding of fascism and think they have owned you by saying "Well Trump hasn't started a a war or killed millions".
Fascism and authoritarianism doesn't have to result in war or genocide, but you can bet your bottom dollar it can lead to many degradations in rights and the destabilisation of cooperation and security. Trump wants to be a dictator. he has said so himself. His sycophants in the GOP will enable this if they think they can get away with it and now since they have ceased the court with far right extremists this becomes increasingly easier.
We hear a lot in Ireland and Europe about the rise of the far right (in Irelands case I think it is completely overblown as most far right candidates get little to no support), but if you analyse the current Republican party in the US they are as far right as the likes of Le Penn et al. There are a few decent Republicans who keep them in check for now but the are steadily getting ran out of the party and it is just becoming a far right MAGA party.

MAGA is a cult. The wife of the audience member who was killed complained about not having a call from Trump and refused a call from Biden because "her husband was a lifelong republican and wouldn't have wanted that".

Biden simply put is a devout Catholic and has decades of reputation as being the type of person to sit down with you for hours and talk about family. The stuff simply just matters to him and not as a matter of political expediency.

Yes, and quite the opposite kind of gesture Trump made to Biden after Biden won the presidential election back in 2020, where protocol is that the loser congratulates the winner. And furthermore, Trump is not known for following protocol, is he? He went off playing golf instead of visiting the wounded man in hospital…yeah, he's some human being all right!

Biden reached out to Corey Comperatore's wife as a gesture because it was the decent thing to do. It's as easy to get as that.
It's not a deep dive into his soul. It's not an expose of the man's heart. I'm not going to pretend I know anything about that. It is however, merely, seemly and respectful behaviour to reach out to someone who's husband was shot dead a few days ago by a political assassin.

Interesting take, It would carry more weight if Biden didnt have a career chocked with speaking with families of all sorts for all forms of incidents. You could quite literally check this stuff yourself. Can he call a family everytime someone gets shot, dont be ridiculous the murder rate is incredible in the US. Does he call people when something hits home, yes . And no it doesnt make the headlines. Hes a human, im actually not sure why you assume he doesnt have good character when all facets of information indicate that he does..

The idea that Biden is reaching out to someone on tv out of decency and is allowing 500lb bombs to be shipped out to Israel to kill civilians is nonsense
your naked and slavish hatred of the man is apparent yet it remains Trump hasn’t reached out to the family. many more people than sad sacks who think everything in life is transactional, will wonder why Trump, one of the most famously transactional persons in history never made that “transaction” after the victims died and will seemingly have to wait for the media to remind him what decency even looks like

I still imagine Trump will completely change his tone at his rallies to be more consolidarity and including now that he knows most people don't care or were a bit surprised someone took a pot shot at him.
He will do what is best for America, It was the will of Jesus after all.
