Following on from main thread in Current Affairs about Tubs in general (now closed and mod suggestion that Entertainment category is more suitable).
Indeed, entertainment in certain respects is what Tubs has provided, albeit perhaps in a way not intended. And still awaiting 150k payback to the licence fee holder.
And of course, his new career in Virgin Radio which is imminent.

Not sure if you are familiar with London, buts its a very big city and there is always 100's of high profile things going on at any time. If you have expectations that radio presenters should be around for all of these events then you have unrealistic expectations and standards.
BTW, "glasto" (or Glastonbury to everyone else) is 3 hours away from London, someone else mentioned the F1, that is 2.5hrs away from London so assume its not just London events he should hang around for and attend so make that probably 1,000 high profile things going on each week that he should be attending.
Coming to a Googolplex near you…
He's working for a national UK broadcaster based in London, so national UK institutions like glasto are important.
But if you believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see it's obvious he's not there for the UKs sake.
And while there are plenty of high-profile events in London every day, Royal Ascot, Henley and Wimbledon are the "big three" and, along with Glastonbury, anyone who is anyone in London will attend at least one of four.
"He's not into sport" isn't an excuse either…I know plenty of former work colleagues who've gone on corporate jollies to Wimbledon and not seen a second of tennis. It's about being seen, raising your profile, making connections, etc. I suspect many of the A-listers at Wimbledon would struggle to name any player outside the top 10 or tell you what a let is.
I was lucky enough to attend the Wimbledon men's final in 2018, and Chris Evans was sitting in the row behind me.
Come on @flyer_query - any reply???
you told lies about a Taylor swift concert altercation only the last page. About 5 people called you out and you ignored everyone of them and moved onto your next fantasy. You constantly make stuff like this up
Let’s hear your reply now
110% stand over that.
Heard it from 3 reliable sources including staff working in the stadium on the night. (1 member of staff joined in the abuse and was stood down and allocated another role).
As for the furious early morning call to NK - you will have to trust me on that BUT I challenge NK to produce the phone records for that morning…there may be a spy in the camp there…say no more.
so what else @flyer_query ??
You seem to have a bee in your bonnet over my input on this thread.
Some of it maybe a little too close to the truth for your liking?
So a staff member was shouting abuse and their supervisor moved them to a different role, let me guess they got the job to control the lights.
Ah would you stop the junk talk.
I have 209 reliable sources that Elvis was in Croke Park at the weekend (upper cusack), does that mean I am telling the truth?
‘Stood down’ 😂😂😂 it’s not the FBI. But cool story bro
….
Ever decreasing circles.
That would be a good title for the thread.
So YouTube figures since the last episode was dropped are not really holding up. It would be interesting to see figures for other platforms, if they are similar to these.
Since Irvine Welsh's ep just 1,231 - 2,000 views have been received over the course of the week for all episodes.
It seems to me you need a guest to be that "RTÉ Guide" front cover, and in Andrea Corr they got that cover.
Corr's episode debut on June 24 and now has 3,200 making her the second most watched episode.
Walliam's episode was significant for it being the first and people rush to see it, he now has 4,900 views, but this only 400 more than what he had when Corr debuted.
The more internationally perceived guest have bombed Cox (1200), Horiwitz (860) and Welsh (450).
The rest are a mixed bag, Garrihy debut's well due to her exit from 2FM that week at 1300 but only picking up 400 views since bring her to 1700.
Even considering Corr's performance these aren't great figures.
If we assume that these figures are replicated across the main podcast networks (Apple and Spotify) and they get similar numbers in total across all other platforms, the total view/listens to date would be around the 100k mark so far.
I can't compare and I can only guess the numbers on other platforms, but to me this isn't a great place to be.
and the repetitive “happier than ever” phrase on every lazy puff piece. He must be so happy now it only remains for him to reach perpetual orgasm.
I might have a listen to the Irvine Welsh episode.
the problem is, even if he had a guest on that I’d be interested to listen to, the very fact the Tubble Tubble is the interviewer would make it extremely hard to watch…
Watching an interesting person being interviewed by Tubbers would be akin to having a full days access to the Garda’s Pulse computer system, but only using it to play solitaire all day….
Peppa Pig doesn’t long to read
maybe Bryan could get his bus driver licence and do a shift for TfL in the afternoons? Since doing a radio show on a smaller station and a hobby podcast isn’t really a way to make a living in the longer term.
I thought he’d be given them free he is such a big force in the international broadcasting & media world as he says on his website.
That right there is the very essence of Brat Summer - a season to go wild in whatever way you want… but there are rules to a Brat Summer if you want to do it right. Going through all the rules, our Brat Summer expert Ryan explained: “When you’re out-out outfit is a strappy white top - that’s it! That’s Brat Summer. Even when the sun isn’t now, you’re grabbing for the black wraparound sunnies, it’s so Julia!”
Next up, it’s the much-needed summer sips. Ryan added: “The Brat Summer is a drink, and it’s sipping on neon orange drinks on the beach, according to the track Everything is Romantic. You’ve re-branded neon green highlighter as 'brat green' and it’s chic. Don’t be surprised if all the brat green highlighters are gone in the office,” he said.

He had a Brat Summer last summer. Got caught acting like a brat last summer.
to think that RTE were at one stage paying 500+k for that type of nonsense, and 9 months ago pay 250k, shows how out of touch they were/still are.
With Duffy running liveline like his private fiefdom, Darcy waffling on and on, shows RTE don’t have an quality control
Pierce Brosnan was at Wimbledon modelling a dapper Ralph Lauren suit. Looked fab! Surely NK could’ve sneaked Tubs in to promote bog roll or bin liners or something -
I can see it now 😁
It wasn't great, but at least he wasn't asking the old LLS questions (do you like Ireland? How did you feel when your mother died?).
Don't forget "How old are you?".
He saves that one for the ladies.
Only if they are 30 playing 16 year olds (Not that the inbetweeners ever faced that question!)
Challenge of the day. Watch this from 9mins 30seconds and see how much of the cringefest name dropping ("just happened to be outside a pub talking to Russell Crowe as I glanced and said hey, that looks like Sinead O'Connor walking down the road") you can withstand. Sickening stuff, unless you're Bobson et al.
He's shameless.
I'd love to, but that would count as a download and I'm not giving him that
