Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
This could be really great

they did ally pally in London not too long ago and that’s 10k. They are not jumping to arena tour in europe hence doing multiple nights or big rooms like Manchester Apollo. Dublin show will be around 8,000 cap. not sure where the greed comes in. London was £55 pounds for cheapest so in around same for 3 arena and they sold out all 3 London nights quickly and probably could have done 2 or 3 more.
Yeah, announcing who's playing tomorrow, could be pretty cool alright. I remember going in to a Prince celebration there, really brilliant array of musicians, fantastic night.
Has she done a solo show here before?
I don't think I've seen Against Me! since the Button Factory was called the Music Centre.
Grabing a ticket for sure.
No, she pulled out of a support slot in NYC last year and the Salty Dog Cruise the year before.
Manchester Apollo is 3.5k capacity. A quarter of the size of the 3Arena. County Dublin (1.4m people) is less that half the size of Greater Manchester with 3m people.
8k even seems a little ambitious, but best of luck to them. And does the ‘greed’ aspect really need to be explained?
they sold out both nights at Manchester Apollo as well and probably could of done a few more with relative ease. They are pretty popular! Try and book an arena show in 3 arena and you’ll soon realise that neither the promoter or artist is making much money on a €60 ticket for such a show.
They would’ve easily sold out 1 night in 3 Arena in 2022 and probably even done very well with a second night then. Tickets for for the Romance tour were fairly priced in comparison to the Skinty Fia tour imo
In 2022 they were third tier on the EP poster and played in Rankin’s Wood. Not a hope of selling out the 3 Arena then. They’re much more popular now and still can’t sell anywhere near 13,000 tickets.
I like ‘em, enjoyable at EP though a little cheesy. I’d go to them again but not at that price. €70/€80 is what I paid for LCD Soundsystem, IDLES & Young Fathers at Malahide. It’s thus very hard to justify that outlay.
They're talking about Khruangbin , not Fontaines DC.
You’re undoubtedly right. I’ve no idea of the cost of hiring that or other venues. For me it’s more a case of value for money, and with very few exceptions, the 3Arena is not providing that.
Deleted.
Looks like I missed the boat on Chelsea Wolfe tickets for the Dublin date.
Have tickets to Phoenix in Iveagh Gardens but seen nothing on Toutless for people looking for them; tickets still on TM and hear a few radio ads too… any chance that gets cancelled? Thought there would've been strong enough demand for them in Iveagh Gardens but doesn't look like it.
Little to no chance of them being cancelled at this stage, bar something happening to the band.

Playing Olympia 22/11/24
the smile cancel all august dates, Jonny greenwood in intensive care for infection
Almost certainly out of intensive care now as the band reported that part of the treatment was in ‘intensive care’ and he’s soon home. Badly reported (not by you) in terms of clickbait-y headlines by all media to make it sound currently more dramatic. Hope he’s well soon.
No Irish date for His Bobness?

CREED BRATTON….. is the new manager!

John Murry playing Cork, Dublin and Galway in November
I really hope he has more than one jacket but could be a laugh.
Before Brexit was it always a Europe and UK tour or was it just a European tour? Always find it mildly amusing when I see that today
is he good live? Thinking of Monroe’s. Listened to a few tracks I liked when he was here last time but didn’t go. May also try the documentary soon.
Was always a US bands type thing as they wouldn't know any better.
It's seemingly become more commonplace for UK acts to don this tag now too, poor but yes amusing.
Pillow Queens on their Instagram saying they will be announcing an Irish tour in the next few weeks.
3Arena teasing an announcement tomorrow at 4, people saying it's a Sabrina carpenter tour
Any word on a support for Phoenix tonight? They ignore that question on social media, but say that show starts at 8pm
no support act tonight for Phoenix
Maybe they'll do a 2 hour extra long set to make up for last cancellation here, otherwise I'll be home in bed by 10.30 which will include nearly hour of travelling g after they finish, but also sounds appealing
