A new thread for Summer general discussion.
Cloudy start in Greystones. 11.7c atm.
July last year was absolutely shocking but June was fabulous. Now it was a bit of a waste for anyone with kids as all still in school but this year June might not have been too wet but it was cold.
I bought loads of shorts for the kids and thankfully getting loads of wear out of them on holidays but it's a total waste as the 8 year old feels the cold so he certainly won't wear them at homeas weather has been so cool.
Lovely sunset tonight after a bit of a weatherless, although dry, day.
Unsure of how much we can generalise with those stats. A work colleague is just back from 5 days holidays in London and Brighton. Brown as a nut , lovely hot days and plenty of sunshine.
Also Jersey CI where we used to live. Stats are saying poor weather but have a look on FB page Jersey by phone camera. Holiday makers uploading photos of recent days spent there. Cracking weather.
Same I imagine here in old " Hibernia " dry weather aka Cluedo and lots of wet weather in other areas.
rain starting in Rathfarnham area.
Lovely calm and mild evening in North Wicklow by the sea. Went out for an after dinner walk and it was pleasant. It seems to be quieter this summer whenever I go out in the somewhat nice evenings as presumably people are either gone away or have lost faith that we have a summer so everyone is just locking themselves at home or in pubs for the evenings!
Can’t remember last time I saw the sun
You might see it in Croke Park tomorrow?
After a cloudy day here in Kerry cleared up lovely in the early evening, cool now at 12.3C and fog forming in the fields.
It feels nice when you get a decent evening at this stage. Been a depressing as hell summer so far.
Cloudy but the sun trying to get through. Dry. Plenty of work in the garden to catch up with.
It's a beautiful picture, well done.
I got the silage baled yesterday in the middle of my kiddies party, bouncy castle and all. I took a break from drawing in the bales for a couple of hours and had a few rockshores and cocktail sausages .
A bit cloudier today here in Meath but warm and dry so far, unless there's a few 'Gerry showers' later. Enjoy your Sunday everyone.
Nice morning walk along the Fenit Greenway in Kerry, calm with broken cloud giving spells of sunshine, feeling warm and pleasant at 18.2C.
heavy shower south Tipp very dark also. Cannot catch a break at all this summer.
Another lovely day in Dublin
Quire remarkable this aftrenoon, walking by the river in Clonmel. Warm and very humid. Looked at the met eireann app, no showers anywhere close.
Within 15 minutes there was an absolute deluge.
The radar shows nothing until 12:15 when there is rain activity over The Comeraghs. In 15 minutes this is now a full on downpour with a second cell over the town. I've never seen a change happen so quickly .
I’ll be up there tomorrow so look forward to a break from the crap down here.
It sure is. Nice drive up to the capital this morning.
Maybe it depends where you are in Dublin. It's overcast and everything remains damp after overnight rain in West Dublin. It's OK, certainly not lovely.
Where in Dublin? It’s warmish and fairly grey in south Dublin anyway
Blue skies over Croke Park.
16c n wet in Sligo after shower.
Lovely and warm today overcast but still plesent 19c currently
Gaillinh Abú
Avoiding rain so far in Meath, not sure how with the clouds that are passing overhead.
21⁰ Meath
Sunburnt in Donegal.
Who'd have thunk it.
grand day in carlow except for the absolute drenching we got around 2 pm that messed up a perfectly great event. Aargh.
Well done . Enjoy the final.
You are very unlucky altogether. It was very pleasant here again in Mid Tipp, felt warm in calm conditions 20C.
Lovely day on Achill today. Started a bit overcast but the sun came out. Very little wind. The Atlantic is so calm. Heaven.
Beautiful. Great shot.
Last June was no more than just ok. The good weather was mid may to early June.
It changed about 6th/7th and hasn't recovered since :(
