War in Ukraine ends in one of two ways either a. Russians go home or b. Kiev and the Ukrainian government falls.
Considering the war in Ukraine raged in the east for the entire 4 years Trump was president its pretty certain option A is not happening under another Trump presidency

There's no way Biden will win in November now. Trump has just shown himself to be by far the stronger of the 2 old men. And I think concerns about age and capability is a factor for a lot of the swing voters.
Hard to know what this does to his popularity other than some voters seeing an attack on him as an attack on democracy.
Either way the American people will get the president they deserve in November.
Its a shame there's no younger candidate. Biden has been a reasonably competent president (Afghanistan aside) but thats been lost because of a number of gaffes (which Trump has also made).
At least in Ireland you have multiple choices at election time, and not just between bad and worse.
I wonder what the protocol is for the CIA sniper to take the shot? There's footage out there where you can see the sniper has locked his sights on the shooter but doesn't take him out until after the shooter has got off multiple rounds. Seems pretty suspect to me, as you'd imagine they're instructed to take the shot before that point?
The cynic in me says it's almost like the CIA allowed the shooter to take out Trump first but the guy f**ked up.

Possibly a confusing situation. There's multiple law agencies involved, local and federal. You see a guy on a roof with a sniper rifle, you probably first need to find out is he law enforcement.
Trump and Biden are doing whistle stop tours of states. Do the secret service have time to do a full sweep and preparation of every location? Unlikely.

Very distasteful seeing some of the comments here but no surprise from some of the people saying them.
Would be happy for innocent casualties once Trump got killed, I'm sure they would sacrifice a friend or family member.
People laughing at an incident where an innocent person was murdered.

A massive amnesia episode in that post. Trump tried to steal the last election, and was thwarted because people such as VP Pence did their duty by the Constitution and did not allow Trump to steal the election with lies. He whipped up a mob with inflammatory language to storm the Capitol, the actions of a fascist not a democrat. Trump on the campaign comes out with language that echoes the Nazis, such as immigrants 'poisoning the blood' of the nation.
People from his last administration are working on Project 2025 to make sure next them round, there's no honourable people like Pence to stand in the way of Trump being a dictator.
He went through impeachment proceedings because he held up aid to Ukraine to try to force them to dig up dirt on the Biden family. All the while Russian forces were aiding and fighting in the war in Donbas - that's a war under Trump's presidency you have amnesia about too.
This is not the actions of a someone who would show any regard for peace in Ukraine. He has given recent speeches about not coming to the aid of NATO members attacked. Again, not the actions of someone remotely interested in peace, instead signalling to dictators they could attack without the US stepping in.
There is less of a taboo about saying it before the fact or attempt. It's obviously pretty crass to be lamenting a failed attack afterwards, especially when others died.
