I don't understand why any Irish person would watch and consume the dreadful toxic media in America.
It's a little like a soccer match between two English premier league clubs. I'm grateful that we're not forced to consume it.
Maybe the shooter was so hunkered down on the roof they couldn't actually see him until he raised the rifle? Assuming they're monitoring a fairly wide field, he could probably lock on and get a cluster of shots away before they had a chance to react..

Those companies will be gone eventually regardless of who is US president. For decades US Multinationals have been setting up in Ireland and then eventually leaving.
We should recognise that and plan for it rather than blame US presidents. We are in the process of dismantling farming and tourism industries in Ireland, which is going to come back to bite us big time. Can't blame Trump for that.

I would've thought it was unusual for 2 snipers on a roof to both focused in the same direction. I'd guess they saw him on the roof and were waiting authority to shoot. When they saw the shots actually being fired they returned fire immediately

We must remember the world is a changed place since Trump was president. We have the War in Ukraine, the relatively new axis of Putin-North Korea-China-Iran. Although some may argue Trump is like a dog who barks more than bites, he nearly caused a coup.

I’m assuming there is some kind of advance team that goes to the rally site and identifies areas that need to be secured. And rooftops to me seem like an obvious place clear of people. Lock the doors to the roofs for example.

In the 1930's, Germany and the world was warned about Hitler, but the warnings were ignored and a psychopathic narcissus came to power and destroyed Europe and most of the world, for generations. I'm really looking forward to the mental gymnastics a large proportion of the media and public are going to play (including people on here) trying to claim Trump being shot is the fault of the far right and that Trump supporters are the really dangerous ones in America and that an assassination attempt on a presidential candidate isn't a big deal.
I'm also looking forward to the left taking responsibility for the hate filled rhetoric they have been pushing about Trump and admitting they caused this assassination attempt. It's what they've been demanding of right wingers for the years so I'm sure they'll have some degree of self reflection and take responsibility for this.
yeah one person dying by shooting in American isn’t international news. Maybe local.
Surely if they'd spotted him they'd be thinking "well there might be an explanation for this but I'll be watching this guy like a hawk just in case" and communicating this sentiment to each other…and the moment he raises what looks like a weapon you take him out…
