While attempted murder is always wrong, maybe Trump will now realise there are some actual true life consequences to his brand of "politics" he has espoused over the last decade. Divisive and violent rhetoric will eventually come back and hit you hard. It's never a one way street.
Looks like he was wearing a gun club T-shirt too. So deranged rather than traditional political seems likely to be the case.
That's why I now use however instead of but!
…a narcissist and consequences! sorry, but that just doesnt happen with such traits! he ll double down….
Maybe That was his disguise,he was trying to fit in at a Trump rally after all.
Time for the NRA to speak up and spout their mantra that with more guns this wouldn't happen.
Now why don't MAGA complain their rights are being violated, they should surely be allowed a few semi automatics each at Trump rallies for just such an event?
Trump is quite the liberal it seems :-)
Not a hope. Even as he was being ushered off stage you could see he was "pumped"
Is that who the repubilcans have become?
Trump like Boris had a bad dose of covid and didn't implement stricter controls.
Ronald Reagans popularity rose after his assassination attempt in 1981- I see Trumps voter ship only increasing now - those republicans who in the past shied away from Trump will return - doesn’t matter if they don’t like Trump he’s still “their man” - I think the race to the white house is over for not only Biden but ANY Biden replacement
I still don’t get how anyone other then police or secret service was on any roof around the rally site. Surely a roof overlooking the place would be sealed off. Am I wrong in thinking this ?
nope, some serious questions need to be asked about this
Okay. I said last night that serious questions needed to be asked, and I still have them, because aren’t we told that the secret service are the top dogs in regard to safety of the people they are tasked with protecting.
I was actually hoping the shooter wouldn't miss.
A possible Trump presidency would mean a lot of problems for the world.
A lot of problems which we could all do without.
that’s CNN. Is that Irish now?
How does that happen? Do people really vote for someone because they were nearly killed. Where's the logic?
An assassination of him would honestly lead to their political system becoming more fraught and fucked up.
OK look at the CNN web site directly …
The will of god saved him from the bullet. God wants Trump to lead us into a better world. Etc. Etc.
It galvanizes support and creates a "them-vs-us' mentality which drags in those at the edges that might not have voted, or who might even have voted for someone else.
Not a great look for a Bbc presenter
Your life will be no different under a Trump presidency.
He was president before, how did your life change for those 4 years?
It already is, and what is more and what is less is just only a difference of opinion.
I think a lot of people in the whole Western world are actually sad that the shooter missed. They most likely don't dare to say it.
I do so hate this idiotic type of response - "oh I don't rate the messenger, so everything they say is wrong"
Where was the presenter "wrong" in that video? Did Trump NOT just have an assassination attempt on his life? Did the others in the videos she referenced NOT say those things? If they didn't then show me the evidence and I'll be the first to agree.
Even a stopped clock is right twice a day, but in this instance I don't see where the "misinformation" or "lies" are?
future of our country. lol, drama queen , tone down your hyperbole.
Time to look for another planet then :-(
….
During the 1912 election Theodore Roosevelt was shot, he went on to lose the election.
As someone who has done a LOT of shooting, purely on the technical side of it it's incomprehensible to me how from 125 yards he missed.
The hard right rhetoric that claim "Ireland is full" "Muslims are our enemy" "Trans people are mentally ill" have always been there, but with Trump as their figure head they've become much more mainstream and in our faces.
Well compare the videos of Trump standing up pumping his fist with the American flag over his head to the mumbling of Biden and you'd have your answer.
One looks strong and one looks weak. This will be pushed by the Republicans until voting day
