It does look like the person named wasn't the shooter and on Reddit or something they've identified a 30 year old that seems more likely to be the person.
The series of photos taken by the New York Times photographer Doug Mills are incredible including the one that captures the bullet.

In this case, I'm inclined to say a bullet brushed his ear. You see him clutch his ear prior to them grabbing him.

I'd say it's more likely the blood on his ear is from the secert service jumping on him and bundling him to the ground than a bullet brushing off him.
Imagine taking an oath to take a bullet for him.

Trump turned his head literally just before the bullet hit. If he kept his head straight he’d be dead now.
Being supersonic you hear the whizz before the sound of the crack gets to you.
One photo suggests a direct hit to the head just above his right ear but it seems the gun wasn't powerful enough and the gunman was too far away to do proper damage
China is incredibly consequential for the world yet I don't see anyone in Ireland acting like a lunatic about it. Honestly the amount of energy and time some people put into the politics of the US is mad. Foreign policy issues I understand but why would anyone in Ireland care about US gun laws or who's on their supreme Court
If this is a real video it's hard to make what from it, the security sniper would have had the shooter in his scope but waited for him to set up take a shot before acting?

Some people here are American and/or live there though. Even you aren't, it still has an effect on the world. No one gets as worked up about Irish politics because it's inconsequential on the world stage, sorry to say. But an inordinate amount of Irish people get outraged about things that have nothing to do with them, I agree

But hearing the local noise before the shots would indicate supersonic.
Just have to wait for the FBI to reveal more.
No doubt there will be lots of speculation about the shooter. Hopefully this will lead to tighter gun control but I'd doubt it.

Wow some people on here are really deranged. Lads you know you aren't American and don't live there. People don't get as worked up about things that happen in our own country or with our own politicians. None of us can impact who is the next US president, it's rather sad to get so rabid about something you have no say in. People don't get half as manic about things XI is doing in China and abroad, you know an actual undeniable dictator who's openly threatening to invade a democratic country. In fact I bet if you ask some on here who's worse they'd actually say Trump. That's how mental they are.
Explain how it's staged? Who would have had to have been in on it? Who would have had to agree to it? How do you stage it?
Or is it easier just to throw out a conspiracy theory and move on?
