I’ve completely missed that apparently a random person in the crowd was also killed. Awful for them and their family.
Jesus, the shooter was 20 years ago. That’s wild.
A few days from now, a lot of people will say they deserved it for being there the same way a lot of people thought the people who were shot in Vegas deserved it because it was a country and western concert.
I had (fortunately) managed to miss that about Vegas until now.

That would be pretty wild considering his age. He would have been registered for what two years, under the exact Republican setup that exists today, and then shoots the leader of the party?
You'd expect something like that from someone in their 50s who identifies as Republican but hates where it's gone under Trump.

After JFK and thinking about who is gaining from this Trump assassination attempt, it is not a great leap to make. Israel’s horrific act yesterday won’t even be reported on much now.
Luckily that all passed me by also but I live in Vegas so obviously the focus here was more on the victims and how awful it was, I'll never forget it.

Look, felons sometimes live a violent life, and many end up pissing off the wrong people, and getting shot. Hopefully, he recovers and gets himself out of that life, but the statistics are against him.

If that's true, quite amazing that Trump constantly advocating for political violence as a solution has nearly backfired on him from one of his own trying to kill him.

Three spectators were injured and one of them is dead, so no, it wasn’t an air gun. (I know it’s not impossible that they could be victims of the police riposte but as the shooter was in the roof that’s less likely)
Still can't believe Trump was so nearly killed today. Any trained shooter would have taken him out from that distance. It's insane someone got so close, had the chance to take multiple shots, and missed their chance. Millimeters away from the biggest US political event in decades.
