Trump is as responsible for the rhetoric that he will be a dictator if elected as anyone, literally referring to his aims to be one on his first day back in office.
And because he will say that the radical left prevented him from making America great again on that one day, he will need to be a dictator for as long as it takes.

I meant your mangling of what he said would be more appropriate in the Trump or Biden threads. The false rhetoric that Trump is going to actually become dictator of America and must be stopped at any costs will be toned down. Biden has already said they're outbound communication and ads.

Well that was the irony of the statement. If you become dictator for even a second it implies that you are a permanent dictator since you can pick and choose when to be one. By definition you are either a total permanent dictator or you are not, he really cannot be for just one day.

Anyone reasonable can see that is not talking about becoming dictator of America. Your false rhetoric of him becoming dictator is what leads to things like him getting shot at, which leads to things like him definitely getting reelected. But if you believe he will actually become dictator of America somehow, I expect you'll emigrate if he wins the election. You wouldn't wan to live in a Trump dictatorship, I'm sure.

Fact is Trump entertained dictator rhetoric all by himself. We will see if he tones it down from here or gets more unhinged as a result of being shot in the ear.
The Democrats will tone the rhetoric that Trump will become an actual dictator that must be stopped at any costs. That has been the narrative and a lot of people are actually convinced of it which risks inciting violence like we have seen.
His own supporters don't think he will be a dictator, and they're the ones who listen to him. So if it's the left and people like you who believe it, it's coming from somewhere.

His own supporters think January 6 was a hoax, and would support him shooting someone on 5th Avenue, whether they really think he’s going to be dictatorial or not is neither interesting nor compelling. These were the people who wanted to hang Mike Pence and overthrow the last election (just don’t call it a dictatorship, some might find that word triggering).
Of course the man who tried to block the peaceful transfer of power on Jan 6th 2021 and lied about the outcome of a fair election wouldn't try to be a dictator if he could. Of course.

I already gave it to you: Democrats will treat the moment with the seriousness it deserves. Trump invites his own headlines claiming to be a day one dictator and when it’s a Democrat under attempted assassination, they don’t “tone it down” they categorically mock it, and double down. Direct evidence of contemporary example involving Trump himself given.
The WH already issued a statement saying it was glad he was alright and we should unify against violence. What did Trump do when Pelosi’s husband was attacked because she wasn’t home? He made jokes about it. His party mocked her and her husband. Night and day apart between the democrats and the republicans.
